Rosé

After running away from that guy, Lisa and I wandered around the school, checked out the canteen, and were shocked by how expensive the food was. As we explored and got more comfortable in this school full of spoiled kids, I told her about my father and why I think he doesn't like me or my mom. Lisa said that if he's paying for me to go to this school, he probably cares about me at least a little bit, since it's enough money to feed three families. We laughed, and she told me about her family too. We found out we'll be in the same class, which was a relief.

After all that walking, Lisa invited me to her room. When I got there, I realized it was exactly like mine. The only difference was that her room was completely empty except for her. We hung out there for a while, and no one else showed up.

"Wow, no one else has come to your room?" I said, glancing at my watch. Judging by the time, no one was going to show up. "I'm so jealous."

"I'm not a big fan of being alone, but based on what I've heard about those girls, I think I'm lucky," she said, laughing as I told her what Judy and Amber said when they saw my clothes and posters.

"Yeah, you are lucky. In my little zoo cage, I won't survive if I don't kill someone soon," I joked, making her laugh even harder. "But there's one thing," I added, teasingly.

"What?" she stopped laughing, curious.

"Maybe one of your roommates will come later. They could be traveling but will return." I laughed, enjoying the look on her face. "Who knows?"

"I hope not. Or at least, I hope they're nice," she shrugged. "Speaking of traveling, do you know if the school trip next week is mandatory? I'd rather stay here and binge-watch my shows."

"Sorry to break it to you, but yeah, you have to go," I said. I didn't want to go either, but in my research, I found out that the trip is mandatory. Every year, the school takes the students to a house by the beach to 'study' subjects like occupational safety and other boring stuff, and everyone has to attend.

Honestly, I'm pretty sure the trip is just a way for the school to promote itself, judging by the massive amount of photos they take every year of students enjoying the beach and tanning. I'm 100% sure that the only thing I'll be doing there is not studying.

I'm not really complaining. It could be cool—but not with these people.

"At least you'll be there," Lisa said, pulling me out of my thoughts.

Suddenly, I heard a bell ring. I went to the door and saw the other girls leaving their rooms, so I stepped out to see what was going on.

"Excuse me, what's happening?" I asked a random girl.

"There's a meeting in the lobby! Hurry up!" she shouted, running past me.

"Another one?" I muttered to myself.

I was about to call Lisa to go when a girl with black hair showed up at the door.

"Excuse me, I'm Jisoo. I was assigned to this room," she said.

"Oh, hello! Welcome!" I said, extending my hand, and she shook it right away. "This is Lisa, your roommate, and I'm Rosé, the neighbor."

"Nice to meet you," she said with a smile. "I'll just go in and put my things away."

"No, no! You can do that later. Right now, we've got a meeting in the lobby, and I don't even know where it is. Let's follow the other girls," I said, grabbing Lisa's hand, who then took Jisoo's hand, and we all headed to the meeting together.
