"I have nothing to say." Jimin replied shortly.
Jungkook clenched his jaw in frustration as he looked away and scoffed. He knew the omega was being difficult on purpose, but he refused to give up.
"Damn it, Jimin." He clenched his fists.
"Can you stop being stubborn for a moment?" He ran a hand through his hair afterwards, clearly struggling to keep his emotions in check.
Jimin simply looked away with his arms folded over his chest. "I don't have any reason to talk to you."
The alpha felt a pang of hurt at Jimin's icy response. He had expected Jimin to be upset, but this much disdain was like a dagger to his chest.
He took a step closer, shortening the distance between them. His eyes bore into Jimin's eyes, almost pleading. "Look." He started.
"I know I've been a jerk, but can't you give me a chance to explain? It's not fair to not let me speak."
Jimin remained the same position with his eyes fixed on the taller male, somehow waiting for him to continue. Jungkook noticed his silence, but at least he wasn't walking away. It was a small victory.
He took a deep breath, gathering his thoughts.
"The library..." he began, his voice quiet but steady. "I didn't mean to hurt you. I was just teasing, like I always do. But it went too far..."
"There's no need to be the top student but have zero common sense." Jimin stated, his tone was flat.
That was enough to cause Jungkook to flinch at his words, the jab hitting a sensitive spot. He knew he could be insensitive at times, but hearing it thrown back at him stung more than he cared to admit.
He swallowed the lump in his throat before responding."You're right," he said quietly.
"I get carried away, and I often don't stop to think about the impact of my teasing."
Again, Jimin looked at him without saying anything. His lips pressed into a thin line as he spoke.
Jungkook studied his face, trying to read his reaction. He knew Jimin wasn't making this easy for him, but he had to keep going.
The male took another step closer, now standing only a foot or so away. The air between them felt thick with tension as Jimin glare up at him.
"I'm sorry," Jungkook said, his voice filled with genuine remorse. "I'm sorry for hurting you, for pushing you to the point where you started crying." He stopped to rub the back of his neck.
"I never wanted that to happen."
With his arms crossed over his chest, Jimin listened to his apology. The omega didn't say anything.
In fact, He doesn't have anything to say to the alpha so he just simply remained quiet.
"Yeah, sure. Whatever."
Jungkook's frustration was mounting. Jimin was still giving him the silent treatment, and it was driving him crazy. The alpha wanted to shake Jimin up, to make him listen, but he held back.
He took another deep breath, trying a different approach to the vice president of student council.
"Please, Jimin ah," he implored, his voice softer. "Just talk to me. Yell at me, hit me, do whatever you need to do. But don't shut me out like this."
The sound of a loud slap echoed through the room like a crack of thunder. It landed firmly across Jungkook's face, leaving a red mark and a stinging sensation. His head snapped to the side from the force of it. He was speechless, feeling both the physical pain and the emotional shock of being slapped so suddenly and so hard.
He stood there, stunned for a moment, before slowly turning back to face the omega.
A red mark was already forming on his cheek.
And then, to his surprise, he chuckled.
It was a short, low laugh, more of a huff really, but it was there.
Then, Jimin was about to land another slap on him again but before he could do so, he dropped his hand down. His chest rising and falling real quick as if he might burst into a set of tears right here right now.
Jungkook braced himself for another slap, but when it didn't come, he chanced a quick glance at Jimin.
He saw the mixture of anger and vulnerability on his face, the way your chest heaved as if Jimin was on the verge of tears again.
His expression softened.
"Hey..." he said quietly, taking a tentative step closer and reaching out to place a gentle hand on Jimin's shoulder. "Relax," he murmured, his tone soothing. Jungkook squeezed his shoulder reassuringly.
"Take a breath," he instructed.
"You look ready to explode."
Jimin pushed his hand but not harshly, just enough to get rid of him before the omega brushed the tears forming in his eyes using the back of his hand.
"Go back to class." That was the only thing Jimin muttered before rushing out, leaving no space for him to argue.
Jungkook started to protest as the omega pushed his hand away, but he stopped himself. He could see the tears welling up in Jimin's eyes again, and he had a feeling Jimin wouldn't want him to see him cry.
He watched Jimin rush out of the room, a mixture of frustration and concern on his face. He wanted to follow the other, to make sure he was okay, but he knew better than to push him further.
"Dammit..." he muttered under his breath, still rubbing his stinging cheek.
