Today's topical test was thought; that's what the whole class thought of. Everyone sticking up to their friends to file a complaint once the test ended.
"What are we?! Harvard students?! The test was no joke, it was so damn difficult for what?!"
"For real! I even saw Jungkook was frowning! That makes me nervous as well." Someone interrupted.
"Hell, Jimin seems frustrated too."
The students swallowed audibly, looking at each other as if they know what's waiting ahead.
"The geniuses in our class were struggled..."
The other shook his head. "We gonna fail, buddy."
The conversation from the classmates keep on goin as Jimin remained seated at his seat with his mouth sealed shut, staring at the surface of his table quietly while fiddling with his cold fingers.
Jungkook couldn't help but overhear the complaints from their classmates. He shot a subtle glance in Jimin's direction, noticing the frustrated expression on his face. The alpha could tell that Jimin were just as annoyed by the difficult test as everyone else.
Though he was used to such tests and the pressure that came with them, he had to admit that even he found this one a bit challenging. And it seemed like it had taken a toll on Jimin as well.
A sigh escaped from the omega, not wanting to think about the test he just answered a moment ago. He noticed some of his classmates are leaving the classroom to go to their PE class so he stood from his seat to take a leave the classroom as well.
Jungkook on the other hand was watching as Jimin stood up from his seat, clearly still feeling frustrated from the test. He couldn't help but feel concern as he saw the expression on Jimin's face.
As he walked beside Jimin to the gym, he observed the omega dejected expression, knowing exactly what that meant. "Hey," he said, his voice quieter than usual. "You alright?"
"If you're going to make fun of me, drop it now." Jimin walked past him, voice sounded tired.
Jungkook's smile faded at Jimin's cold response. He could sense the exhaustion and frustration in his voice, which caused him to drop the sarcastic tone.
"Hey, wait," he protested, quickening his stride to catch up to the omega. He walked beside Jimin again, his usual smirk replaced with a more serious expression. "I wasn't going to make fun of you. I was just checking on you, I swear!"
That was enough to make Jimin shutting his head at the taller male, eyebrows furrowed as if he was doubting Jungkook's words at the moment. Jungkook soften his eyes upon noticing the look on Jimin's face, realising that the omega was still hesitant to believe him.
"There's no need, everyone struggles too." Jimin muttered with his head hanging low over the gym floor. "I'm not the only one having a hard time."
He didn't blame Jimin, after all, he knew that his usual teasing and sarcastic demeanor had probably made Jimin skeptical of his intentions.
"I know that," he replied quietly, his voice taking on a more gentle tone. "But you're struggling and I care enough to check on you. Is that so hard to believe?"
"What's up with you now?" Jimin threw another question instead of answering, his eyes are wary as he locked his eyes with the taller male.
Jungkook paused, taken slightly aback by Jimin's guard up. The alpha was used to Jimin's feisty demeanor, but something felt different about his wariness now. He met Jimin's gaze, his usual smirk replaced by a more stoic expression.
"What's up with me?" he repeated Jimin's question. "Nothing's up. I'm just asking how you're doing after that tough test." He paused for a moment before continuing. "And I guess I also wanted to apologize if I've been too sarcastic or teasing lately."
Jimin listened to his words bit by bit as he sighed. "Alright." Then the omega walked to their classmates standing a big circle to warm up together.
Jungkook followed the omega silently, his mind racing with thoughts. He wasn't used to being earnest or apologetic to be honest, but something about the situation and the way Jimin were acting made him want to be sincere.
He stood beside the vice president in the big circle, listening to the teacher's instructions as he discreetly stole glances in Jimin direction every now and then.
The PE class continued as usual, with the students participating in various activities. Jungkook finally learned to keep his distance, giving Jimin the space he seemed to need while still keeping an eye on the omega from afar. He couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt whenever he saw how weary and frustrated Jimin looked, regretting the times he had pushed Jimin's buttons a bit too hard.
Jimin on the other hand, sat at the side of the court with a few of his omega classmates who were taking turns to play the sports as they were chitchatting about random things and laughed to their hearts content. Nothing much happen until the PE teacher called Jimin over so he excused himself.
Jungkook silently watched Jimin made his way over to the teacher. From a distance, he observed Jimin's interaction with the teacher, curious about the reason why the omega had been called over.
Jimin walked up to the teacher who is also happen to be the counsellor at the school.
"Oh, Jimin! I want to ask if would you like to go on a leadership programme?" He offered, looking at the omega and his bright phone screen back and forth through his thick glasses.
Jimin blinked his eyes in confusion.
"When will the programme be held?"
"Next week, oh! Ask Jungkook too, both of you deserve to experience this programme."
Upon mentioning the devil's name, Jimin turned to look at the alpha brushing off his sweat as he played volleyball with their other classmates.
Jungkook was in the middle of playing volleyball with the other classmates when he heard the teacher mention his name rather faintly but still audible enough to his eardrums. The tall male looked over at the pair of Jimin and the teacher in curiosity.
He continued playing nevertheless, but couldn't help but wonder what the teacher was talking about and why his name had been brought up.
As he spiked the volleyball back at the opposing team, he couldn't help but steal glances in Jimin direction, only to notice that Jimin has already looking over for a while now with both his hands on his waist. The alpha unconsciously smiled in victory, mentally punching the air the moment he realised that Jimin was watching him.
"Are you done?" Jimin asked from the side of court. "The teacher is calling for you!"
Jungkook wiped the sweat off his forehead with his shirt, panting slightly from the intense game.
"The teacher called for me?" he repeated, raising an eyebrow in surprise. He looked at his teammates, who were still celebrating their victory, before back at the shorter male who is in front of him now.
"What for?" The alpha asked curiously.
