Another day at school, he was just about to put down his bag when one of his classmates came up to him, looking troubled. She held a stack of papers in her hands, which Jimin quickly recognized as the assignment from the previous day's class.
"Hey, Jimin," Sana said sheepishly.
"I was wondering if you could help me with a couple of these questions. I tried to do it but I'm having a bit of trouble understanding them."
"Oh, of course." Jimin nodded while dropping his bag on my chair. "Which one?" He patted his table, giving her permission to put it on his table.
The classmate smiled gratefully, placing her stack of papers on Jimin's table. She flipped though a couple of pages then pointed to a set of calculus questions that she seemed to be struggling with.
"I just can't seem to remember the steps," Sana admitted sheepishly while rubbing the back of her neck. "Would you mind explaining it to me?"
Jimin nodded before taking out his pencil to write down the formula for her to apply in her calculation. The male omega explained through every details as Sana listening intently to the explanation.
She looked focused as she worked through the problem, carefully plugging in the numbers and values when Jimin let her pressed the calculator by herself to find the answer l before they cross checked the answer together.
"Yeah, you got it right." Jimin smiled assuringly.
Her eyes widened in realization, a proud smile spreading on her face. "I did it!" she exclaimed. "Thanks, Jimin. You're a lifesaver."
Jimin simply laughed to brush it off. "It's nothing."
"No, seriously," Sana insisted.
"I would've been lost without your explanation. You're really good at explaining these things."
She gathered her things, preparing to leave.
"Thanks again!"
"Most welcome." Jimin smiled, watching her returning to her seat before rearranging his stationery on his table.
The air seems different from earlier out of sudden and it's making Jimin shift uncomfortably. Afew students giving him curious glances, clearly they were watching his interaction with Sana.
Jimin could hear whispers and murmurs of some students, their voices carrying over to him.
"Is Jimin always this nice?"
"I legit thought he would be more standoff-ish," Another voice whispered back.
The murmur goes on, as if the subject is not there. Jimin might have overhear all those conversations and their comments made him feel a bit self-conscious. He tried to ignore their hushed conversations but then, another voice caught your attention, this one more familiar.
Jungkook's voice.
The omega heard Jungkook's voice cutting through the murmurs in the room. He had entered the classroom, looking somewhat annoyed.
"Seriously, what is with all this noise?" he asked loudly, putting on his signature aloof demeaner.Jimin shifted his gaze to Jungkook as he entered the classroom, his bag hanging casually over his broad shoulder. He looked somewhat annoyed, likely due to the commotion in the room.
Their eyes met for a brief moment, and Jimin saw a flicker of something in his expression before he quickly composed himself, resuming his usual indifferent persona. Jungkook strolled through the aisle between the desks, his footsteps unhurried and steady. Jimin noticed some students falling silent as he passed them by, almost as if they were intimidated by his presence.
Jungkook then casually took a seat in his usual spot, beside the vice president.
It doesn't take a long time before their homeroom teacher entered the classroom promptly with her file, going through the routine of taking attendance. The class fell silent as she did, the only sound being the calling of names can be heard.
Once attendance was taken, the homeroom teacher left and their first subject teacher walked in, signaling the start of the lesson.
The teacher began the class, asking about the completion of the homework assignment. Once received the positive answer from the students, she then turned the whiteboard, drawing four columns and labeling each of them with her black marker.
"AddMath mentors, please step forward," she instructed.
The room grew tense as several students, including the Student council president and his vice, stood up and approached the whiteboard. Each of them took turns writing down calculations in their respective columns. Some was nervous, unsure and confident.
The other students in the class watched with baited breath, the tension in the air palpable. Jimin focused intently on his calculation, quickly finishing and placing the marker down on the whiteboard.
To his surprise, Jungkook also finished at the same moment, placing his marker down on the tray in unison with the omega. The teacher observed each of them, scrutinizing the calculations on the board. After a few moments, she nodded her head in approval, seemingly satisfied with the answers.
"That was fast," she commented with a chuckle, eyeing the columns of calculations.
"Good, you may sit. Once the mentors are done, I'll call you back up to explain the calculations."
She motioned for the rest of the mentors to continue working, and Jimin made his way back to his seat, retaking his place beside Jungkook.
When he was back in his seat, the omega could feel Jungkook's gaze on him for a moment. However, once he returned his look, the other male quickly looked away, feigning nonchalance.
The teacher turned her attention back to the remaining mentors, watching them as they finished their work and put down their markers one by one.
Eventually, the last mentor set down their marker, signaling the completion of the task. The teacher nodded in satisfaction, "All done?" she asked once the last mentor had finished their calculation.
She surveyed the whiteboard, a satisfied smile on her face. "Great," she continued.
"Now, I'll call back the mentors to explain their solutions to the class."
It's Jimin's turn so he walked to the front of the class, approaching his own calculation on the whiteboard. The omega launched into his explanation while holding a blue marker, explaining each step with a steady and clear tone, making sure his classmates could follow along.
Once he finished, he scanned the room, checking on their expressions. "Any questions?" Jimin asked while capping the blue marker back after using it for his explanation.
Later, when Jimin lifted his head again, he spotted Jungkook raising his hand, the omega couldn't help but feel a pang of irritation as he sighed.
"Except for you," The vice president reiterated, darting a glare in Jungkook's direction.
