Jimin got his eyes fixed on the rope tied around his wrist before glancing over his back, seeing his other teammates stood approximately five meters away from him. They are connected by the rope until the last member at the back, Sohyun.
They are worried to let Jimin to lead the way especially when they can barely see. The only source of light for them is the moon, that's all.
"Jimin! Are you sure you're alright?" The omega heard a random voice at the back, coming from his teammates. Jimin was a bit startled but he took a deep breath afterwards, concealing his fear.
"I'm good."
The siren is loud, alarming them to start. Their movements are rather slow this time, being careful with every steps that they take. Jimin swallowed as he steps on dried leaves and sticks, making crunching sound echoes his eardrums.
Maybe because it's night, the temperature is much colder now. Most of them are literally shivering due to the not enough layer covering their body.
"It's raining." Jimin muttered once he felt a raindrop fall on his nose, making him lifting his head up.
Then rain start pouring, only to make some of the students on the different track grunting, and some even whining because of it. It's unbearable for any of them to walk any further to the end in this weather.
Oh fuck—
It's raining so hard that Jimin cannot see anything else in the dark. "The facilitator told us to return to the base camp! Let's turn! Be careful!" Sohyun said but Jimin who's at the front cannot hear a thing.
Jimin cluelessly remained standing at the same spot, turning around to look at the back.
As Jimin lifted his wrist, trying to follow the rope to find his teammates, the omega realized something wasn't right. Instead of feeling the rope tugging, the end of it was cut off. Confusion and panic set in as he came to the realization that he was now separated from the rest of the group members.
The rain continued to pour, making it difficult to see in the darkness. In fact, the only thing Jimin could hear was the sound of the rain and his own heart pounding in his chest.
Jimin look around frantically, desperately trying to see through the rain. The darkness of the woods seems to swallow everything as the rain continues to pour, making the visibility worse. The cold air and the feeling of isolation make the omega shiver, fear and doubt consuming his thoughts.
On the other hand, most of the teams didn't make it far into the woods so they could return to the base camp much earlier. As for Jimin's group, the reach a bit later while some of them supporting Nuha to walk, her clothes got some dirt as she wince whenever she took a step.
The elders approached them immediately, checking on their condition in worry. They received an order from the facilitator to rest under the medic canopy to let Nuha to get a treatment.
Jungkook, who has been watching them from the far left his team for a bit to approach them with a frown. "Where's Jimin?" His deep voice startled them.
They were exchanging looks, seems like they are about to piss their pants soon if Jungkook stayed any longer. "I asked you guys, where is Jimin?" He repeated his question, hands balled into fists.
Just then, his eyes landed on the rope that remained tied around Nuha's wrist. She's connected to Sean and the other side... seems like has been cut off.
"The rope—"
"Then you left him?!" Jungkook snapped.
He cut off the injured girl before she managed to explain anything. Jungkook sees red. Plus, he even felt his heart beat increased. Cold sweat forming on his forehead at the thought of that.
"Fucking dumbass." The tall male cursed and later, he immediately grabbed a bag and slung it across his chest.
The tension thickened, everyone seems to be scared and some of worry about the missing person; Jimin. Without thinking twice, Jungkook ran into the woods again, following the track that Jimin's team was assigned as he screamed for Jimin's name.
"Jimin!!" No response.
He runs a bit further and repeat the same thing. Again, no response. This was enough to build frustration up in the alpha as he runs his fingers through his hair, taking a deep breath in process.
Unlike earlier, the rain has completely stopped by now. It gives him more clear vision to his surroundings. His own heartbeat is loud in his ears, cannot make himself calm down at the moment.
"Jimin, don't drive me crazy." He muttered.
He called for the omega over and over again. It sucks that he can't smell any pheromones at the situation like this, only the thick smell of rain filling into his system as Jungkook walked in slower pace this time.
Jungkook walked around, looking all around the track until he heard a crack sound behind him. He went alert and immediately turns, seeing Jimin standing with his hand getting a support by holding onto a tree next to him. His outfit outfit was all wet and his face swollen probably from crying.
"J-Jungkook?" Jimin was taken aback, not expecting the male will be the one looking for him other than those organisers and facilitators.
Jungkook widen his eyes, just then, he ran to engulf the smaller into a hug. He wrapped his arms around the other male without thinking about anything else, he was so relieved. Jimin blinked his eyes, dumbfounded when being pulled into a hug randomly like that.
"Are you okay? Did you get hurt?" Jungkook throw his questions right after breaking the hug.
Jimin nodded. "I fell... twice?" He sounded unsure.
Jungkook frowned deeper upon hearing that.
"I think I sprained my ankle." Jimin reported, looking down at his feet along with the taller.
Jungkook breathed out, taking some time to digest everything in his tired brain. After that, he quietly unzipping his windbreaker to put it on Jimin.
"Slip your hands into the sleeves, wear it properly." Jungkook adjusted the windbreaker on him.
Once satisfied, he turned around to scrunch down in front of Jimin who is remain standing.
"Come on, get on my back." He patted his shoulder.
"It's not that bad!" Jimin tried to refuse while waving his hands in front of him. "I can still walk!"
"Jimin, do me a favor. I'm worried sick right now so if you let me do this I'll be more at ease."
