He stood frozen for a moment, his mind racing. This was what he had wanted-to hear her say it, to finally have the truth out in the open. But now that it was here, it felt overwhelming. He had always sensed something between them, but hearing the words still stirred something deep inside.
Karna's initial shock melted into a profound calm as he absorbed Maya's confession. Her words lingered in the air, and he could see the vulnerability in her eyes. He took a deep breath, his mind racing with emotions and thoughts about how to respond. This was more than just a revelation-it was a moment that could change everything.
He stepped closer, his gaze steady and earnest. "Maya," he began softly, "I've been struggling with my own feelings, too. Seeing you with such sadness today made me realize just how important you are to me."
Maya's eyes widened, a mix of hope and apprehension. "What are you saying?"
Karna took her hand gently, his voice growing firmer as he spoke from his heart. "I've felt the same way about you for a while now. I just didn't know how to tell you, and I didn't want to make things complicated. But now, hearing you confess... I can't ignore my own feelings anymore."
He knelt down, his eyes never leaving hers. "Maya, I care about you deeply. I want to be with you, to build a future together. I know this might seem sudden, but I want to ask you something important."
Maya's breath caught in her throat, her emotions swirling with anticipation.
Karna continued, "Will you marry me? Will you be my partner, my companion, and share your life with me?"
Tears brimmed in Maya's eyes as she looked down at him, her heart swelling with a mix of joy and disbelief. "... are you serious?"
Karna's face was a picture of earnestness and hope. "Yes, Maya. I'm completely serious. I want to spend my life with you. I know it's a big step, but I believe we can face whatever comes our way together."
Maya's eyes filled with tears of happiness, and she nodded, her voice trembling with emotion. "Yes, . Yes, I will marry you."
Karna's face lit up with a radiant smile. He stood up, pulling her into a tender embrace, both of them overwhelmed with the depth of their feelings. In that moment, the world seemed to stand still, their future together unfolding with newfound clarity and promise.
