11. What The Freak

DAHYUN WAS ALSO PREPARING FOR THE WINTER FESTIVAL. She spent hours in the practice room, just singing.

With Dahyun, if she weren't able to sing, her life wouldn't be the same. Her life revolved around music and singing. It was her passion.

Currently, she was practicing two songs called My Hope and I'm In Love With You. The first one is an OST for a kdrama called Knight Flower and the other is an OST for a kdrama called Reborn Rich, which she sung for.

The melodies are catchy and are very enjoyable to sing. She particularly loved the instrumentals, though, since it was a little jazzy, dreamy, and very comfortable to the ear.

For a break, Dahyun decided to go and get a soda from a vending machine nearby. As she did so, she took a little detour and sat on a bench.

Sometimes, singing for hours on end took quite a bit of energy out of her and made her feel tired. She sat on the bench until she had cooled down and was ready to get back to grinding again.

But before she stood, in the distance, she heard faint music. It sounded like a tiktok or a reel sound, but since she wasn't sure, Dahyun stood from the bench and peeked over the corner of a building.

There stood a girl with dark hair, practicing a dance to a trending sound on social media. Her face couldn't be seen from the angle Dahyun was at, but the way she danced was addicting to watch;

It was smooth, but sharp. And she carried some sort of graceful swag in the way she moved. Her movements seemed to draw Dahyun in as she watched from afar.

Footsteps approached from a distance, "Kaede-chan!" A loud voice chirped, waving at the girl who Dahyun watched.

The dancer's head turned slightly, waving at the other girl. "Yubin-ah, hi. What're you doing here?"

The girl, Kaede, smiled. As she turned her head to greet Yubin, Dahyun got a glimpse of her face and was stunned.

Since when did someone looking like that ever attend MH Uni??? Dahyun thought, taking a small step back from shock.

Kaede was quite small, and somehow charismatic and cute at the same time. Just then, Dahyun believed she just saw the most perfect person on the planet.

As Kaede and Yubin spoke, Dahyun noticed little things about Kaede. Like when she smiled, her dimples showed and her eyes turned into crescents.

It was funny that she never noticed such things about Yubin, who stood just beside her.

When Yubin eventually left, Dahyun thought that it might be best if she got back to the practice room aswell.

She walked by and past Kaede on her way, trying her best to not look too weird. She felt a little self concious, just because the dancer was particularly pretty.

What the freak. She's so pretty? And she looks so cute. Her speaking voice is so cute, too... Dahyun thought as she walked through the halls of MH University, heading back towards the practice room.

What she wasn't aware of, however, was that Kaede had been thinking just the same thing.

Her attention had shifted over to Dahyun as soon as she caught sight of her. "Oh..." She muttered to herself, it's Dahyun-nim. Heck, she's so gorgeous even during school.

It was as if the two were destined to find each other at this moment in time. That's what it felt like.

It all started off in just simple attraction. But as time passed, they begun to develop a crush on the other.

EVER SINCE THE DAY NAKYOUNG AND YUBIN met at their university, they had been hanging out almost daily.

They missed each other a lot and it was clear, that fact. There wasn't a time when they wouldn't end up laughing with each other, which was something only the other could do in a specific way.

It was like there was something missing from their lives since they parted, and now that they're back, the gaps have been filled.

"Ahh, i'm so exhausted." Yubin sighed as she lay back on Nakyoung's bed.

"You haven't been over working yourself, again, have you?" Nakyoung asked, glancing through the mirror in her room as she applied mascara.

Yubin stayed silent and stared at the fan on the ceiling, which was now the only source of sound.

Nakyoung sighed and turned around, crawling onto the bed and wrapping her arms around Yubin, "Yubin-ah... I told you that you need to take more breaks and don't work so hard all the time."

"... I know." Yubin started quietly, "But it's just... I- i need to do well on this."

To remind you, Yubin is currently a leader for the Winter Festival. Lots of people relied on her when it came to dance. Nakyoung understood, if not more than anyone else.

Nakyoung was experienced and an exceptional dancer. She was very good at choreography, too. Things like teaching, people asked her to do often. It wasn't a foreign feeling.

"Yubin, i know how you feel. I really, really do." Nakyoung breathed against Yubin's chest, "But i'm worried about you. Please, just atleast take a nap for now?" She asked, glancing up at her friend with pleading eyes.

Yubin stared at Nakyoung and contemplated, before eventually nodding. "Fine. But you're staying." She said grudgingly and held Nakyoung tighter.

i also wrote the last part in school, so it might be a little sloppy 💀
