31. Pedophile

AS MINJEONG APPROACHED, Yubin turned around, a little startled. She eyed Nakyoung and she nodded in response.

"Minjeong." Nakyoung said quietly, slightly stepping towards Yubin, who immediately wrapped an arm around her waist and back.

"Hey." The older girl smiled, "I didn't see you come in earlier."

"Auntie Youngok caught me." Nakyoung said simply and Minjeong nodded straight away.

After a moment, Minjeong's eyed darted between the two, "So, this is your girlfriend?" Minjeong asked, a small smile on her face.

Nakyoung nodded a little awkwardly, glancing over at Yubin, who offered an encouraging smile.

Minjeong smirked, "What's your name?" She asked, "It's a wonder how Nakyoung managed to win over such a pretty girl like you, never mind getting a girlfriend at all." She joked, her attention now on Yubin instead of Nakyoung.

"Yes, it is a wonder." Yubin smiled, avoiding Nakyoung's glare. She held out a hand towards Minjeong, "I'm Gong Yubin. It's a pleasure to meet you, Minjeong-ssi."

Minjeong held in a chuckle and took Yubin's hand in her own, "Likewise."

"Where's jimin-unnie?" Nakyoung asked eventually, her eyes lightly scanning over the venue.

"She's getting us drinks." She said, turning her head towards the bar, "Um, actually, she's now talking to some relative that i met once when i was, like, five."

She turned back towards the girls, "Maybe i should go and save her from her misery." She managed a strained smile, "You guys should get some drinks in you, too. It'll be a long day. You can drink, can't you, Yubin?"

"Uh," Yubin blinked with a small nod, "Yeah."

"Great." Minjeong smiled as she took a step backwards, "At least i know little Naky's not some pedophile."

Nakyoung cocked an eyebrow at her cousin, "What did you just say?"

"Nothing!" Minjeong laughed, already far enough to shout.

Nakyoung grumbled, glaring at her from afar, "She's so annoying."

Yubin laughed at her and placed a hand on her head, "You're easy to annoy, though, Naky-unnie." She smiled, "Minjeong seems nice."

"'Seems'." Nakyoung nodded, bending over to place her head against Yubin's shoulder. "Maybe i do need a drink."

Yubin looked at her, "Uh... I don't think that's a good idea. You're driving." Yubin replied, poking Nakyoung's back absent-mindedly.

However, Nakyoung was unbothered by the poking, used to it by now, and groaned, "You're such a T."

Yubin just laughed, unwrapping her arm around Nakyoung and holding her hand instead, "Let's go sit? Don't want anyone stealing our seats."

JIWOO HAD JUST FINISHED HER CLASSES and had begun walking out of school. By a tree, she noticed her roommate, Chaeyeon, with headphones in, her head resting against the bark.

As she approached, she also noticed that her eyes were closed, so she gently nudged the girl's leg with her foot.

Chaeyeon startled awake and looked up at Jiwoo, "Oh my fu- Holy sh..." She mumbled, pulling off her headphones, "Was i sleeping?"

Jiwoo stood and held in her laughter, looking down at the older girl, "Uh... I think?"

Chaeyeon sighed and looked at her phone, "Thank god... It's only been forty minutes." She stood, somehow just noticing Jiwoo's presence, despite asking her a question just a moment ago. "Uh... Hi?"

"What are you doing?" Jiwoo asked, glancing down at the girl's headphones, which looked more retro than she expected.

Chaeyeon looked down at the headphones in her hand and shrugged, "Just... Studying."

"With headphones?" Jiwoo asked genuinely, "What were you listening to?"

"A broadcast." Chaeyeon begun walking away with her stuff, "From 2001."

Jiwoo didn't hesitate to follow after her, "Why?"

Chaeyeon sighed and looked at her, "Because i'm in the broadcasting club."

"Is that all? Do you need to study for that?" Jiwoo asked.

"I am so sure you've solely asked me questions in the five minutes you've been bothering me for." Chaeyeon replied, giving the younger girl a slight glare, "The reason i'm studying... Is just because i want to get better."

"Wait..." Jiwoo said suddenly, a realisation coming to her head, "You're that Kim Chaeyeon?" She asked, pointing at the girl infront of her.

"And who may that be?" Chaeyeon raised an eyebrow at her.

"The girl who does all the announcements. I heard you did that in high school, too." Jiwoo explained, "You're already good."

Chaeyeon nodded slightly, "Sure, thanks... But just because i am, doesn't mean i can't get better." She said as they arrived at a small lone room by the school office.

Jiwoo looked around with raised eyebrows, "Is this where you do them?" She asked, referencing to the announcements that Chaeyeon does.

The older girl nodded, "Yeah. It's not too shabby, right?" She smiled, leaning over a table and putting her headphones onto a stand.

"Wow." Jiwoo exclaimed quietly, her eyes scanning over all of the equipment, "It's so cool."

Chaeyeon just smiled and turned to face her, "I know. Do you want to try?"

Jiwoo's eyes lit up with excitement, nodding, "Yes, please."

i forgot to write about soomin and hyerin at nien's cafe... maybe next chapter guys 😭😭 or maybe ill just skip till afterwards... idk
