NAKYOUNG WAS ON HER WAY BACK HOME from University. When she got out of her car and walked into her family house, what she didn't expect to see was her cousin, Kim Minjeong.
"Oh," Nakyoung exclaimed as she set her bag on the living room sofa, "Minjeong, hi."
Minjeong watched as Nakyoung flopped onto the couch, "Yo." She sat back on the sofa herself, "How was school?"
"Eh." Nakyoung shrugged. "The school part is very... Uh, eh. But the dancing part is what makes it worthwhile, i guess." She sighed.
Minjeong laughed, "I was the same last year."
She was a graduate of MH University last year, but majored in music. Her best friend, Ning Yizhuo, still goes and is Nakyoung's roommate.
"Anyways, i was actually coming here to ask you what you were wearing." She said casually, pursing her lips at her cousin.
Nakyoung's eyebrows furrowed, "Wearing for what?"
Minjeong looked at her weirdly, as if she was dumb, "My mom and her fiancé's wedding, duh?"
"What?" Nakyoung exclaimed, "Since when was auntie engaged?!"
"Since June?" Minjeong deadpanned, "How did you not know?"
"Well, i've not heard from any of you in months. How long ago was it since June?" Nakyoung began counting with her fingers, "Four months ago?"
"Well, didn't auntie and uncle tell you?" Minjeong asked, referring to Nakyoung's parents.
"No-"
Have you ever heard of the saying: "Speak of the devil and he shall appear."?
Well, this was one of those cases, because just at that moment, Nakyoung's parents walked through the front door.
The two cousins walked towards the kitchen, where Nakyoung's parents were, unloading the groceries.
"Oh, Naky, baby, how was school?" Her mother asked sweetly.
Nakyoung furrowed her eyebrows at her, "Mom, why didn't you tell me about auntie's engagement?"
"Oh! I'm sure we did, sweetie." She replied, turning around to Nakyoung's father, "Isn't that right, honey?"
Her father spinned around from the counter with raised eyebrows and a smile, "Oh, yes, i remember exactly when we did. We told you and Hyerinie and at the same time, princess."
"What? There's no way..." Nakyoung massaged her head and begun walking back over to the living room.
Minjeong followed suit and loomed over and behind Nakyoung, who sat on the sofa. "Good luck finding a date." She snickered, "You'll need it."
For some reason, this infuriated Nakyoung. It was a weird and touchy subject, since she had never actually dated anyone before.
Minjeong was open with and liked to brag about her girlfriend, who she has been dating for four years, and Nakyoung was a little bit jealous of that.
Nakyoung sat up on the couch, "I don't need any luck, Minjeong."
"Suuure." She dragged her words out with a smirk, "As if anyone would willingly want to date you." Minjeong joked, ruffling the girl's hair gently.
Although she knew her cousin was joking, it felt as if she was being made a fool of, despite the harmless words.
Her eyebrows furrowed slightly and her lips pursed, "Actually, i'm already dating someone." She falsely admitted.
She wasn't dating anyone, no. But she she told this lie to simply get Minjeong off her back.
Minjeong's eyebrows raised and she smirked, "Oh, really? Who?"
