DAHYUN IS WALKING ALONG THE PAVEMENT when she catches yubin standing outside of the library. Perfect, She thought.
She casually makes her way up to the girl with with a wave and a bright smile, "Hey, Yubin-ah. Are you going to study?" She asks.
Yubin laughs as she furrows her eyebrows, "Who do you think i am?" She asks, "I'm waiting for Nakyoung-unnie."
Dahyun's eyebrows raise, "Wow, i'm more surprised that shes studying than i would be for you." Dahyun laughed.
Yubin smiles at her. "Aren't you going in?" She asks after a moment of laughter.
"Uh, actually... I was hoping to ask you a question." Dahyun says, her feet moving about beneath her absent mindedly.
"Huh? Me? What's up?" Yubin asks, now intruiged.
"Do you happen to know someone called Kaede?" She asks, slightly shy as she makes eye contact with her friend.
Yubin raises an eyebrow at her with a noticable smirk, "Yeah, i do..." She replies, "Don't you know basically everyone, though, unnie?"
"Yeah, well, clearly not." She says, "Can you please tell me where i can atleast find her?" She asks, "She's a dancer, isn't she?"
Yubin nods her head, "Yeah. She's my roommate and the best dancer i know." She states, "And this comes from me, a dancer, who knows lots of dancers."
Dahyun blinked, the word "dancer" starting to not sound like a word at the moment. She nodded, coming back to her senses, "Right. So, how do i get to her?"
Yubin hums, "Depends."
"What do you mean 'depends'?" Dahyun asked, her eyebrows furrowed and her lips pouted slightly.
Yubin chuckled, "Do you like her?"
Dahyun stepped backwards slightly, startled. "Wh-" Her mouth opened and closed for a few seconds, unable to say something fathomable. "You cant just..."
Yubin nodded, "Okay... I'll take that as a yes." She smirked, "It's not a problem." She shrugged, "But..." Yubin dragged out her words for dramatic effect, staring out into the distance.
Dahyun shook her arm impatiently, "Yubin! 'but' what?"
Yubin just laughed at her. "I'm only messing with you. It's fun. Your reactions are perfect." She cleared her throat, "Okay, being serious now..."
She took in a deep breath and stared into Dahyun's eyes. "The real question here is: Do you want to become friends, or do you want something more?" She asked.
Dahyun hummed, breaking eye contact in thought for a second. "I think firstly, i would like to become friends. Then if there is potential... You know, mutual... Liking, then i would like to take it further." She nodded with a blush on her cheeks, seemingly determined to become friends with Kaede.
Yubin smiled at her and pat her on the shoulder, "Well, becoming friends with Kaede is just easy." She said, "She's very open to become friends with anybody. But..."
Dahyun sighed, "Yubin, i swear, if you say that one more time..."
Yubin just smirked and raised her hands in defence, "Okay, no more buts." She said, "As i was saying... If you want to become more than just friends, you're gonna have to fight with her little fan club."
"Fan club?" Dahyun asked, "That's seriously a thing? I thought those only existed in anime." She said in disbelief.
Yubin laughed, "Yeah. It's true. She's really popular, but only has a few close friends." She says as she flicks her hair behind her shoulder, "And one of those would be me." She smiles.
"But i thought you said shes open to become friends with anyone?" Dahyun asked genuinely.
Yubin nodded, "Yeah, she is. But some people are too afraid to get close because shes so popular, or they feel as thought they can't be." She explains, "Plus, she does have lots of friends, theyre just not as close as a few others are; Like her best friend, Kotone."
"Huh, okay." Dahyun said softly, placing her fingers against her chin.
"I'm sure it'll be no problem for you, though, Dahyun-unnie. You get along with everyone." Yubin smiled widely at her with a pat on the back.
Dahyun gave her a sweet smile, "Thanks a lot, Yubinie." She began walking away from the library, her voice raised slightly, "I'll treat you to dessert soon!" She waved as she made her way down the pathway.
As Yubin waved back with a smile, Nakyoung approached behind her. "Why's she treating you to dessert? What'd you do?" Nakyoung asked, suddenly smiling as she looked at Yubin's face.
"Oh, well... Uh, you promise you wont tell Kaede? Or anyone?" Yubin asked, raising a pinky to her as they began walking away from the library.
"Promise." Nakyoung nodded immediately as she intertwined their pinkies.
Yubin smirked, "Dahyun has a crush on Kaede."
Nakyoungs eyebrows rose, "What?! Seriously?!"
"Mhmm." Yubin nodded and smiled, "And you know what the best part about that is?" She asked, suddenly feeling excited.
Nakyoung raised an eyebrow at her, "What?"
"Kaede has a crush on Dahyun-unnie." She said with a smirk, "Hah."
