"It's weird, right?" James asks his friends. His face is all scrunched up as he stares at the three people happily charting away on the Ravenclaw table.

Sirius nods. "It's far beyond weird, mate." He replies in agreement. Just the other month Remus was a hair away from beating the boy to death because he tried to kiss Circe and now the three of them look like they are the best of friends.

Lily sighs in annoyance. "It's not that weird." She tells them. "The three of them simply have a shred of emotional intelligence, which is more than I can say about you lot."

"Circe has emotional intelligence?" Peter repeats, snorting in amusement at the thought. He's known her for long enough to know that she has about as much of it as James and Sirius do- which is probably none at all.

The ginger groans. "You're right, it's weird." Even she hadn't believed her own words. It's much more believable that the two boys are simply tolerating each other for Circe's sake. Although she can't for the life of her think as to why the girl is still hanging out with him. Lily had thought that she was merely doing it to make Remus jealous and give him that last push to ask her out. Which, to her credit, had worked extremely well.

"What do you think they're even talking about?" James whispers conspiratorially. He doesn't remove his eyes from the bizarre trio who are all laughing at something that Damocles had said.

Sirius chuckles. "Poor bloke probably said he had perfect hair."

"And why would that be funny?" Lily chuckles when the boy straightens his posture and runs a hand through his long, dark hair.

He flips it around as though he's auditioning for a shampoo commercial. "Because everyone knows that I have perfect hair, his is second rate."

Peter nods enthusiastically. "It's true."

"Whilst that is undoubtably true." James comments, giving his brother a reassuring pat on the back to confirm that he agrees. "I don't think that's what they're talking about."

He narrows his eyes at the trio, frowning when Remus shakes hands with Damocles. The boy may be the most agreeable of the bunch, he's nowhere close to be that forgiving- especially when it comes to Circe. The two of them are strangely obsessed with each other and crazily possessive. He also knows for certain that Circe wouldn't be that forgiving if a girl had tried to kiss Remus, so she wouldn't have expected him to apologise for tossing Damocles to the ground.

In fact, she looked rather excited by it at the time and not at all sorry for the blonde boy.

"Wait, they're coming over." Sirius whisper shouts, flailing his arms around in surprise. "Quick, act natural!" He begins shovelling food into his mouth and doing anything he can to not stare at the couple as they make their way over to the Gryffindor table.

James is quick to follow, striking a weird pose as to act like he wasn't just spying on them.

Lily and Peter share a tired look before eating their food like a normal person would. "I can't believe you're dating him." The boy comments.

"Yeah, me neither." Lily sighs.

"Thanks for the tips, Belby." Remus tells the blonde through gritted teeth.

Damocles shakes his head. "Don't even worry about it, I have plenty more tips on hair care. It's very important, you know." He reassures the boy. "Maybe next I could tell you about skincare, yours is particularly dry."

Circe doesn't at all miss what he's trying to do. Ever since the two of them had sat down he had kept picking on Remus' appearance. Alone, the comments could be brushed off as him merely being insensitive, but with the sheer amount of them it's obviously intentional. "Well, we should get going."
