Y/N took a deep breath as they were led deeper into the safe zone, their heart racing with a mix of relief and disbelief. The flickering firelight illuminated the faces of the other survivors, and as they stepped closer, Y/N felt their jaw drop.
Seated around the fire were none other than the members of BTS—Yoongi, Hoseok, Namjoon, Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook. Each of them looked different than the polished idols they were used to seeing, wearing rugged clothing and bearing the marks of survival, but their distinct personalities shone through.
"Yo, Jin! You brought someone back!" Hoseok exclaimed, jumping to his feet. His usual bright smile was still there, though it carried a hint of exhaustion. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine," Y/N managed, still in shock. "I—I can't believe it's really you guys."
"Welcome to our little refuge," Namjoon said, his voice calm but filled with warmth. He stepped forward, offering a reassuring smile. "You're safe here, Y/N. We'll take care of you."
Yoongi leaned against a crate, arms crossed, eyeing Y/N curiously. "How did you end up out there alone?" His tone was blunt, but there was a softness in his gaze.
"I got separated from my group," Y/N replied, feeling the weight of their situation. "I didn't think I'd run into anyone, let alone you guys."
"Good thing Jin was out there," Jimin added, his eyes sparkling with relief. "He has a knack for finding people in trouble."
Taehyung, who had been quietly observing, finally spoke up, his voice gentle yet firm. "You must be exhausted. We can get you some food and supplies. You're safe now."
Jungkook, who had been sitting quietly at the edge of the group, finally looked up. "I can help with that," he offered, his tone earnest. "I know where we keep the rations and supplies. Follow me."
As Jungkook stood and led Y/N toward the storage area, Y/N couldn't help but feel a rush of gratitude. "Thank you, Jungkook. I appreciate it," they said, trying to mask their starstruck feelings.
"No problem," he replied, glancing back with a friendly, reassuring smile. "We all have to stick together in times like these, right?"
As they reached the storage area, Jungkook began pulling out cans and packages, explaining what they had. "We've been rationing our supplies, but we're making it work," he said, his determination evident.
Y/N was impressed by his resourcefulness. "How long have you guys been out here?" they asked, curious about their story.
"Too long," Jungkook said, a shadow passing over his expression. "But we're making the best of it. It's not easy, but we're a team."
Back at the fire, Hoseok and Jimin were busy setting up a small cooking station. "You're going to love our makeshift meals," Hoseok called out, his voice cheerful as ever. "We can't let the apocalypse stop us from eating well!"
Yoongi rolled his eyes playfully. "Just don't get too carried away, Hobi. We need to save some for later."
As they settled down to prepare food, Y/N watched the group work seamlessly together, their camaraderie evident even in such dire circumstances. It was surreal to see them in this light, a far cry from the glamor of stage performances. Here, they were just people, fighting for survival, sharing smiles, and making jokes to lift each other's spirits.
"Y/N, right?" Namjoon asked, breaking Y/N's reverie. "What skills do you have? We could use all the help we can get."
Y/N hesitated, feeling out of their depth. "I'm not sure I'm cut out for this kind of thing. I'm not strong like you guys."
"Don't underestimate yourself," Yoongi interjected. "Everyone has something to contribute. Just being here is enough for now."
The warmth in his voice reassured Y/N, and they nodded, feeling a bit more grounded. "I can cook, and I know a bit about foraging for food," they admitted.
"Perfect!" Hoseok said, his enthusiasm infectious. "You can help us with meals! And we definitely need to keep our energy up."
As the fire crackled, the group shared stories of their experiences, each one revealing the struggles and victories that had brought them together. Y/N felt a strange sense of belonging, despite the chaos outside. Being with BTS was like finding a family amid despair.
After a while, Jin sat down beside Y/N, a soft smile on his face. "You did well out there. It can be hard to adapt to this new world, but you're stronger than you think."
"Thanks, Jin," Y/N replied, feeling a sense of gratitude for his presence. "I just never expected to find you guys here."
"Neither did we," he chuckled softly, "but life has a funny way of throwing surprises at us."
Jungkook returned to the group after stashing the supplies, a satisfied look on his face. "I found some good stuff. We should be set for a while." He took a seat next to Y/N, his presence comforting.
