The days that followed blurred together for Y/N as they fell into a new rhythm with BTS. The safe zone became a sanctuary in the chaos outside, a small pocket of normalcy in a world that had crumbled. The group worked together seamlessly—cooking meals, gathering supplies, and watching over each other like a makeshift family. Despite their exhaustion, there was laughter, warmth, and an unspoken understanding that they were all in this together.
But not everything was calm.
It was early one morning when Namjoon pulled Y/N aside. His usual calm demeanor was replaced by something darker, more serious. "We need to talk," he said quietly, motioning for Y/N to follow him away from the others.
Y/N's heart raced as they followed Namjoon toward a secluded part of the camp. "Is something wrong?"
"We're running out of time," Namjoon began, his voice low but steady. "The supplies aren't going to last much longer, and the safe zone is starting to attract attention. We've seen signs of other groups nearby—dangerous ones."
Y/N felt a chill run down their spine. "What do you mean?"
"There are people out there—scavengers," Namjoon explained. "They're desperate and ruthless. They'll do anything for food, water, or shelter. We've been lucky so far, but we can't stay here forever."
Y/N nodded, the weight of his words sinking in. "So, what's the plan?"
"We need to move," Namjoon said firmly. "Find a more secure location, maybe somewhere farther away from the city. It's risky, but staying here is even riskier."
The thought of leaving the relative safety of the camp was terrifying, but Y/N knew Namjoon was right. The world outside wasn't getting any better, and sooner or later, danger would come knocking.
Back at the camp, the others were already starting to pack up. Hoseok was busy securing their supplies, his usual bright demeanor replaced with a look of determination. Jimin and Taehyung were checking the perimeter, keeping an eye out for any signs of trouble.
"We're really doing this, huh?" Y/N asked, walking up to Yoongi, who was sharpening a knife by the fire.
"Yeah," Yoongi said without looking up, his tone matter-of-fact. "It's the only way we survive. You ready?"
Y/N swallowed hard. "I think so. It's just... hard to believe this is all happening."
Yoongi finally glanced up, his gaze steady. "You'll be fine. Just stick with us, and we'll get through it."
A few hours later, the group was ready to leave. Namjoon gathered them together, going over the plan one last time. "We head east, toward the mountains. There's a small town there—should be less crowded, with fewer threats. We can regroup, maybe find more supplies."
Jin, who had been unusually quiet, finally spoke up. "We don't know what we'll find out there. But staying here isn't an option."
The weight of his words hung in the air as the group shouldered their bags and set off into the unknown. Y/N stayed close to Jungkook, who seemed to take it upon himself to keep an eye on them.
"You doing okay?" Jungkook asked, his voice soft but reassuring.
Y/N nodded, though their heart was pounding. "Yeah, just... trying to wrap my head around all of this."
"We'll be alright," Jungkook said, offering a small smile. "We've made it this far, haven't we?"
As they moved through the desolate streets, the world around them felt eerily silent. The buildings loomed like ghosts, empty and forgotten. Every step felt like it could be their last, but the presence of BTS beside Y/N was a strange comfort.
Hours passed, and the group was making good progress when Taehyung, who had been scouting ahead, suddenly froze. He raised a hand, signaling for everyone to stop.
"What is it?" Namjoon asked, his voice barely a whisper.
Taehyung pointed toward a distant building. "Movement. Could be scavengers."
Everyone tensed, their hands instinctively moving toward their weapons. Y/N's heart raced as they scanned the horizon, their mind racing with thoughts of what could happen next.
Namjoon motioned for the group to take cover, and they crouched behind a crumbling wall, waiting, listening. The silence was suffocating.
After what felt like an eternity, Taehyung lowered his hand. "They're gone. Let's keep moving."
The tension in the group was palpable as they continued their journey, the weight of danger pressing down on them like a shadow. Y/N couldn't help but glance at the others—Jimin's jaw clenched in determination, Hoseok's eyes darting around as if expecting an ambush at any moment. Even Yoongi, usually so calm and collected, looked more on edge than usual.
As night fell, they finally reached the edge of the city, the mountains looming in the distance like a beacon of hope. They set up camp in an abandoned building, grateful for the temporary respite from the dangers outside.
Sitting around the fire, the group was unusually quiet. The reality of their situation had set in, and the exhaustion was visible on everyone's faces.
But despite the fear, despite the uncertainty, there was still a sense of togetherness. Y/N looked around at the group—their makeshift family—and felt a surge of gratitude. They had each other, and in this world, that was everything.
"We'll make it," Jungkook said quietly, as if reading Y/N's thoughts. "We always do."
