As they crouched in tense silence on the ledge, the scavengers continued their search at the base of the cliffs. Y/N's heart raced, every instinct urging them to do something, anything, to escape this nightmare. They could see the scavengers looking up, their eyes darting nervously as if sensing they weren't alone.

"Stay low," Namjoon whispered, his voice steady but urgent. "We can't give ourselves away."

But as the seconds stretched into what felt like hours, one of the scavengers suddenly pointed upward. "Hey! I think I saw something!"

Panic surged through Y/N. They quickly shifted back, trying to stay hidden behind the rocky overhang.

"Shit!" Jungkook hissed, his grip tightening around his weapon. "We need to go!"

Suddenly, another shout rang out from below. "They're up there! Let's move!"

Without thinking, Namjoon glanced back at Y/N. "We have to make a break for it. If they come up here—"

Before he could finish, a loud crack echoed through the air. A shot fired, and the sound of a body hitting the ground reverberated against the cliffs. Y/N's blood ran cold as they turned to see Yoongi, who had been trying to edge away from the ledge for a better position, suddenly stagger back, clutching his shoulder.

"Yoongi!" Y/N screamed, their voice filled with dread.

Yoongi's eyes were wide with shock, but he gritted his teeth, attempting to stay upright. "I—I'm fine. Just... just a graze," he said, but his voice wavered, and he stumbled back against the rocks.

"No, it's not!" Jungkook shouted, his face paling as he rushed toward Yoongi. "We need to get you out of here!"

The remaining scavengers surged forward, climbing the rocks with determination. Namjoon pushed Y/N back, trying to keep them from getting too close to the edge. "We need to focus! We can't get caught!"

But Y/N couldn't tear their gaze away from Yoongi, who was struggling to keep his balance. "Yoongi, stay with us!" they urged, heart aching at the sight of their friend in pain.

"I... I can hold them off," Yoongi gasped, shaking his head. "Just go! Get to safety!"

"Are you insane?" Jungkook shouted, his voice cracking with fear. "You can't stay here alone!"

"I'm not going to let them take you!" Yoongi's eyes burned with fierce determination. "You have to go now!"

Before anyone could protest, Yoongi turned and staggered toward the ledge, his expression resolute even as blood began to seep from his shoulder. "I'll buy you time. Just go!"

Namjoon hesitated, torn between staying to help and fleeing to safety. "We can't leave you!" he shouted, panic rising in his voice.

But Yoongi turned, his face pale yet fierce. "You have to! I can't let them take all of you. You need to survive!"

In that moment, something shifted in the air. Y/N's heart plummeted as they watched the scavengers scale the cliff, their eyes fixed on Yoongi, who stood bravely at the ledge.

"No! Yoongi!" Y/N cried, the anguish rising within them.

Yoongi turned one last time, a fleeting smile crossing his lips, a mixture of sadness and determination. "Go!" he commanded, voice hoarse but steady.

Without another word, Y/N felt Namjoon's hand on their arm, pulling them back. "Now!" he yelled, urging them to turn away from the scene unfolding before them.

As they retreated further along the ledge, the sound of footsteps and shouts grew louder. Y/N risked a glance back just in time to see Yoongi face the scavengers, standing firm despite the blood staining his clothes.

The scavengers were upon him, and with swift, brutal movements, they overwhelmed him. Y/N's heart shattered as they watched, unable to tear their eyes away as they heard Yoongi's voice—fighting, pleading, then silenced.

"No!" Y/N screamed, the word ripping from their throat, despair consuming them as they stumbled backward, the enormity of loss crashing down on them like a wave.

"Y/N!" Namjoon's voice broke through their haze of grief, snapping them back to the present. "We have to move! Now!"

Y/N felt numb, tears blurring their vision, but Namjoon's grip was firm, pulling them along. They didn't resist; they couldn't. The pain of losing Yoongi was a chasm that threatened to swallow them whole.

Jungkook followed closely behind, his face pale as he struggled to contain his own emotions. The sounds of the scavengers echoed behind them, the urgency propelling them forward even as the weight of their loss hung heavy in the air.

They moved swiftly, the cliff face providing some cover, but the reality of their situation pressed down on Y/N. They had lost one of their own, and the knowledge that they might not survive this day loomed ominously.

As they scrambled down the other side of the cliff, Namjoon led them to a hidden path that wound through dense underbrush, offering some concealment from their pursuers. Y/N forced their legs to keep moving, each step a reminder of the fight still ahead, but the ache in their heart was a constant, unbearable weight.

"Stay close," Namjoon urged, his voice steady yet filled with urgency. "We need to find a safe spot to regroup and come up with a plan. For Yoongi."

Y/N nodded, the pain of grief and guilt churning in their stomach. They couldn't afford to give in to despair—not yet. They had to keep fighting, for Yoongi and for each other.

As they pushed deeper into the wilderness, Y/N silently vowed to honor Yoongi's sacrifice. They would survive this, and they would make sure that his memory would live on, no matter what it took.
