As they ventured into the forest, the atmosphere shifted, the tension palpable. Each step felt heavier, as if the weight of the unknown pressed down on them. Y/N stayed close to Namjoon, their heart racing with the thought of what awaited them.
They moved cautiously, the sun filtering through the leaves, casting dappled shadows on the ground. Jungkook led the way, his instincts honed by countless encounters, while Taehyung flanked him, ever watchful.
"Stay alert," Namjoon reminded the group, his voice steady despite the unease growing within him.
The path was overgrown and winding, but they pressed on, determined to reach safety. As they made their way deeper into the woods, the sounds of nature began to fade, replaced by an eerie silence that made Y/N's skin crawl.
Suddenly, a loud crack echoed through the trees. Everyone froze, instinctively looking to one another for guidance.
"What was that?" Jimin whispered, his voice trembling.
"Stay close," Namjoon ordered, his eyes scanning the surroundings. "It might just be wildlife."
But Y/N could feel something was off. The air was charged, and an unsettling feeling crept into their bones. They continued cautiously, every rustle of leaves amplifying their anxiety.
Without warning, a group of figures emerged from the thicket—a gang of scavengers, their expressions menacing. Y/N's heart dropped as they realized they were outnumbered.
"Looks like we found some fresh prey," one of the scavengers sneered, brandishing a weapon. The group instinctively formed a protective barrier around Jimin, who was still weak from his injuries.
"Back away!" Jungkook shouted, his voice fierce. "We don't want any trouble."
But the scavengers advanced, laughter echoing through the trees. "Too late for that," another one jeered.
Namjoon stepped forward, his jaw set. "We're not looking for a fight. Just let us pass."
"Not a chance," the leader replied, his eyes glinting with malice. "This is our territory now."
The tension snapped like a taut string, and chaos erupted. Jungkook charged at the closest attacker, adrenaline fueling his movements. The others followed suit, each fighting to protect their own.
Y/N fought alongside Namjoon, but the fear and uncertainty clouded their mind. They exchanged quick glances, a silent agreement to stay together, but as the struggle intensified, it became harder to maintain their formation.
In the midst of the chaos, Jimin fell back, struggling to keep himself upright. "I can fight!" he insisted, but Hoseok moved to support him.
"No, you need to stay safe!" Hoseok urged, but his attention was momentarily diverted.
In that instant, a scavenger lunged at Jimin, and everything seemed to slow down. Y/N's heart sank as they saw the glint of a knife, the attacker's intentions clear.
"JIMIN!" Y/N screamed, but the sound was drowned out by the chaos.
Hoseok turned just in time to see Jimin's desperate attempt to dodge the blow, but it was too late. The blade caught him, a flash of crimson staining the ground as he collapsed to the forest floor.
Time stopped. Y/N felt a visceral pain in their chest, the world around them fading into a blur. Namjoon's eyes widened in horror, and for a moment, it felt like the entire forest held its breath.
"NO!" Yoongi roared, rage consuming him as he fought with renewed fury. "Get away from him!"
Hoseok rushed to Jimin's side, cradling him as he struggled for breath. "Stay with me, Jimin! Please!" Tears streamed down his face, the reality of the situation hitting hard.
Y/N felt their legs weaken, the weight of loss crashing over them like a wave. Jimin's pain-stricken face was burned into their memory, and an overwhelming sense of helplessness engulfed them.
"Focus!" Namjoon shouted, his voice cutting through the haze. "We need to get out of here!"
But the fight raged on, and the scavengers were relentless. Y/N could hardly think, their heart pounding in their ears. They moved to help Hoseok, but the world felt surreal, the screams and cries merging into one cacophony of chaos.
As they fought to protect each other, Y/N couldn't shake the feeling that everything was spiraling out of control. With every blow exchanged, the reality of their situation deepened—their family was breaking apart, and they were losing someone they cared about.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Jungkook managed to overpower one of the attackers, but the victory felt hollow. They were outnumbered, and desperation hung heavy in the air.
"Let's go!" Namjoon shouted, urging everyone to retreat. But Y/N couldn't move, paralyzed by the sight of Jimin, who was now still and pale, the life slipping from him.
"Y/N!" Namjoon's voice snapped them back to reality. "We have to move now!"
With a final glance at Jimin, Y/N felt their heart shatter. They couldn't save him—not this time. But they had to survive. They had to keep fighting for him.
They turned and ran, the sounds of battle fading behind them as they plunged deeper into the forest, carrying the weight of loss with them. The world felt darker, colder, but they wouldn't forget Jimin. They would keep his memory alive, no matter what it took.
