As dawn broke, the soft golden light filtered through the cracks in the cabin walls, casting gentle patterns on the floor. Y/N stirred, blinking against the brightness and taking a moment to collect their thoughts. The night had been long, but they felt a renewed sense of determination coursing through them.
Jimin was still resting by the fireplace, looking slightly better than the night before, though still pale. Jin was sitting beside him, keeping a watchful eye, while Hoseok prepared a simple breakfast from their dwindling supplies. The smell of something cooking filled the cabin, a comforting reminder of normalcy amidst the chaos.
"Good morning," Namjoon said softly as he noticed Y/N awake. He stood near the window, his silhouette framed by the warm light. "How did you sleep?"
"Better than I expected," Y/N replied, stretching and glancing around the room. "How about Jimin?"
"He's stable for now, but we need to keep him resting," Jin said, glancing at Jimin, who was slowly waking up. "I managed to clean his wounds, but he'll need more care."
Jimin stirred, blinking against the light. "What time is it?" he mumbled, his voice hoarse.
"Early," Hoseok replied with a smile, setting a plate of food down in front of Jimin. "Eat up. You need your strength."
Jimin smiled weakly, taking a small bite. "Thanks, guys. I appreciate it."
As everyone settled down for a quick breakfast, Y/N felt a sense of unity envelop them. The shared struggles had brought them closer together, each moment of vulnerability strengthening their bond.
"Today, we need to come up with a plan," Namjoon said, his tone turning serious. "We can't stay here forever. We need to find a way to get to safety, but we also have to keep an eye out for any threats."
"Agreed," Jungkook chimed in, finishing his meal quickly. "We should scout the area, see what we're working with."
Y/N nodded, feeling a spark of determination. "What can I do to help?"
Namjoon looked at Y/N, his expression thoughtful. "You can help us map out a route while we scout. It'll keep you engaged and make sure we're prepared."
"Got it," Y/N replied, feeling a surge of purpose.
After breakfast, they divided into teams. Jungkook and Taehyung would scout the nearby area for any threats, while Namjoon, Jin, and Y/N would start mapping out their route toward the next town. Hoseok stayed behind to keep an eye on Jimin.
As Y/N and the others gathered supplies and a few scraps of paper, Y/N felt a sense of urgency in the air. They quickly sketched out the surrounding terrain, focusing on potential paths to take. The morning light seemed to invigorate them, each stroke of their pencil a step closer to freedom.
After a while, Jungkook and Taehyung returned, their expressions serious but relieved. "It looks clear for now, but we did see signs of movement further down the road," Jungkook reported, catching his breath.
"Movement?" Namjoon asked, concern flickering in his eyes.
"Yeah. It could be scavengers or worse. We need to be careful," Taehyung added.
Y/N felt their heart race at the thought of encountering more dangers. "So we should take a different route?" they suggested, glancing at the map they had drawn.
Namjoon studied the layout, then nodded. "That would be wise. We'll need to be stealthy. Let's aim to leave soon while the light is still on our side."
With their plan set, they gathered their belongings, ensuring Jimin was stable enough to travel. Once everyone was ready, they took one last look around the cabin, knowing it had offered them shelter during a tough night.
"Ready?" Namjoon asked, glancing around at the group. The others nodded, determination etched on their faces.
