Y/N shifted uncomfortably, their skin prickling with the sensation of being watched. The silence felt wrong—unnatural. They stood up, quietly scanning the treeline once more. Every nerve in their body was on high alert, but there was nothing, no movement in the shadows beyond the camp. Yet the uneasy feeling wouldn't leave.

Suddenly, Yoongi appeared at Y/N's side, his presence calm yet vigilant. "You feel it too?" he asked in a low voice, barely above a whisper.

Y/N nodded, grateful for the quiet company. "Something's off. It's too still."

Yoongi's eyes narrowed as he gazed into the dark. "Stay sharp. We can't afford to relax, not now."

Y/N sighed softly. "I just want to get through the night without anything else going wrong."

Yoongi gave a quiet grunt of agreement, but neither of them dared to say more. After a few minutes, Yoongi returned to his resting spot, though he kept his weapon close at hand, eyes still scanning the distance.

Time dragged on. Y/N's exhaustion was becoming harder to ignore, but they fought it, forcing themselves to remain alert. It was during one of these lapses, when their eyes briefly fluttered shut, that they heard it—a distant, almost imperceptible sound. The crunch of footsteps, slow and deliberate.

Y/N's heart raced. They didn't move, didn't breathe, only strained to listen more closely. The sound grew louder, closer. It wasn't just one person—it was several.

They quickly rose to their feet and rushed to Namjoon's side, shaking him awake. "Namjoon, get up. There's someone—no, more than one. They're coming."

Namjoon's eyes snapped open. In an instant, he was alert, gathering his weapon and standing at the ready. He motioned for Y/N to wake Jungkook and Yoongi as he listened intently.

Y/N roused the others, urgency pressing them on. Jungkook immediately drew his weapon, his face paling but his eyes sharpening in determination. Yoongi, though groggy, stood ready to fight.

The four of them formed a tight circle, weapons raised as the footsteps grew closer. There was no mistaking it now—multiple people were approaching their camp. Y/N's hands trembled slightly, but they steadied themselves, ready for whatever was about to come.

The fire crackled softly, casting eerie shadows around them, making the darkness even more impenetrable. Namjoon's voice was low but commanding. "No matter what happens, we stick together. We fight together."

The footsteps stopped. Whoever—or whatever—was out there, they were just beyond the light of the fire, lurking in the darkness. Y/N's breath hitched as they strained their eyes, searching for movement, but the forest seemed to swallow the figures whole.

Then, without warning, something was hurled toward them, landing with a dull thud in the dirt near the fire. Y/N's stomach dropped when they saw what it was—one of their bags, the contents spilled across the ground. They hadn't even realized it was missing.

Jungkook's jaw clenched as he took a step forward, but Namjoon held out a hand to stop him. "Wait," he whispered.

A voice broke the silence, deep and cold. "You've got something that belongs to us."

Y/N's blood ran cold. It was the scavengers.

The leader of the scavengers stepped into the light. He was tall and lean, his face half-covered with a scarf, his eyes hard and calculating. Behind him, several more figures lingered in the shadows, weapons gleaming in the faint firelight.

"We don't want any trouble," Namjoon called out, his voice calm but firm. "We're just passing through."

The scavenger leader chuckled darkly. "Trouble? Oh, you've already found that. See, you've been wandering around our territory, taking what's ours. That's a problem."

Yoongi's eyes flicked toward Namjoon, then back to the scavengers, his body tense. "We didn't take anything from you."

The leader's grin was cold and menacing. "Doesn't matter. You're still here. Now, hand over whatever supplies you've got left, and we might let you walk away."

Jungkook growled, unable to hold back his anger. "You think we're just going to let you take everything and leave us for dead?"

The scavenger leader's eyes narrowed. "You don't have a choice."

For a moment, everything hung in the balance. Y/N could feel their heart pounding in their chest, their pulse loud in their ears. Namjoon, calm as ever, gave a barely perceptible nod to Yoongi and Jungkook, signaling them to prepare.

Then, all hell broke loose.

Jungkook lunged forward, his weapon aimed at the nearest scavenger. Y/N followed suit, adrenaline surging through their veins as they fought off the intruders. Yoongi's movements were swift and deadly, his blade flashing as he struck down one of the attackers.

Namjoon fought beside Y/N, his strength and precision unmatched as he blocked and countered the scavengers' strikes. The sounds of clashing metal and grunts of effort filled the air, the once-still night now a whirlwind of violence.

Y/N dodged a blow, retaliating with a quick strike to their opponent's side. The scavenger stumbled, giving Y/N just enough time to deliver a finishing blow. Panting, they looked around, heart racing as they saw their friends still locked in combat.

Jungkook had taken down two of the scavengers already, his expression fierce as he fought off another. Yoongi moved like a shadow, silently and efficiently dispatching his enemies with deadly precision. But more scavengers kept coming, and Y/N realized with a sinking feeling that they were outnumbered.

"Fall back!" Namjoon shouted, his voice cutting through the chaos. "We can't win this fight here!"

They began to retreat, keeping the scavengers at bay as they moved away from the fire and deeper into the woods. The darkness swallowed them, but the sounds of pursuit were close behind. They couldn't stop now—not until they were sure they'd lost the scavengers.

Y/N's heart pounded in their chest, the rush of the fight fading into a desperate need to survive.
