Zzzzzzzzzzzz...
Ula observes the sleeping Straw Hat captain as she treats her wounds, as well as Sanji and Ghin's, in a spare bedroom above the restaurant level.
A loud booming startles the rubber captain awake.
Luffy slowly comes to, sitting up off the bed.
His hands instinctively go to his head, but are met with nothing but his hair. And when he can't feel his most prized possession sitting in its usual place, that's when the panicking ensues.
"WAA! MY HAT!! WHERE'S MY HAT?!
Ula gently pushes him back down onto the bed.
"Calm down, Lu. It's right over there, unharmed."
She points to the straw hat tucked away on a small bookshelf at the head of the bed.
"Oh, good, here it is." Luffy sighs, securing his precious treasure back onto his head.
"Have a good nap?" Sanji asks, sitting in the windowsill of the room.
Luffy then looks around the room confusedly.
"Hey...Those pirates..."
"They're gone now, all thanks to you, chore boy."
Luffy's head whips around to see a bandaged Ghin in the doorway.
"Ghin?! What are you still doing here?" Luffy inquires.
"Well, you did pass out before you could hear the news."
Luffy shifts his gaze back to Ula, a puzzled look on his face.
"Ghin defected from the Krieg Pirates and has been welcomed aboard as the first mate of the Wayfinder Crew!"
"Seriously?!"
Luffy nearly leaps off the bed.
"Very." Ghin answers for himself. "I don't think my life expectancy would be very long as a pirate, or even in general, if I were to stay with Don Krieg. Somehow, I think my journey onwards will be more fulfilling and enlightening with Captain Ula and the Wayfinders. And seeing as how you're both allied crews, I wanted to make my intentions known to you as well, chore b–no. Luffy."
Ghin is sincere with every word spoken.
"Of course! Ula always had a knack for sniffing out good people. So if she thinks you're good for the crew, then you must be!"
"I'm glad I can meet both your approvals." Ghin smiles nervously, scratching the back of his head. "Especially, when I haven't done anything to warrant such acceptance."
"There will be plenty of time for that in the future." Ula eases.
At Ula's comfort, Ghin already feels his nervousness melting away.
"So, I guess Ula and I don't have to do any more lame-o chores, since I got those pirates off your back, right?" Luffy grins.
"That's the deal." Sanji confirms, stepping through the bedroom window, onto the balcony deck just beyond, his gaze stuck at the endless seas ahead.
"Hey, I was wondering..."
The blond chef is quick to cut off the proposal.
"No, I'm not gonna run away with you to become a pirate."
"Aw."
The rubber boy's head droops down in a sulking manner.
"I've got some unfinished business here. I'll stay until Zeff acknowledges my skill." Sanji clarifies.
