Back Story:

When the war ended, it was on their side. The side of Anga. The huge army of Karnat, along with King Manmath and his remaining sons escaped. The army of Saurashtra, led by evil Bhag Dutt, were slaughtered ruthlessly by Padma and Supriya. The remaining army fled from the battlefield to save their lives. Bhag Dutt had an evil plan of revenge. He wanted to capture the capital when the men were absent. It backfired as Padma killed Bhanu Dutt and made Bhag Dutt invalid (as she cut off his limbs from knees) while her baby sister Supriya had herself slained the two sons of him, Bijay Dutt and Binay Dutt. They both together had protected Anga from Saurashtra. By their own credits. Shone had to kill Uruv, Twin brother of Uruvi that had baffled his armies and they ran away. Karna with the help of the armies of Hastinapur and Indrapasth secured his win on Pukeya. He defeated his third father-in-law King Basav himself without anyone's help. Not even of his arch enemy Arjuna. Whereas the evil and ruthless Ahom king Narakashur, father of Bhag Dutt, had been slained by Devi Satyavama, adored wife of Lord Krishna. In this war the women folk had shown their excellences. Be it Devi Satyavama, Devi Padmavati or Devi Supriya. "Nari Shakti ki jai!!"

When Karna was coming back to his own state Anga after winning the war he witnessed the fierceness of his shy and timid Supriya by himself. He was astonished yet proud of herself!!! He was so happy for his Devi!!! He had brought her with himself!!! With the proper dignity and respect!!!!

However he was never ready for the fatal blow. His happiness was short lived. He heard that Uruvi had denied to obey the order of Padma and she even tried to sacrifice her own life for the sake of Vrishasen. She jumped on the battlefield and took the poisonous blow on herself. This news shook him to the core!!!

He was heartbroken to see the falling condition of her. At this time, he was deeply in love with Uruvi. He loved Padma and Supriya. But none of them could overwhelm him so much like Uruvi. Perhaps because her similarity with his dead fiancee Baishali. Or may be because he felt sorry for her. As he refuted to accept her for long time. Or may be because he was drawn to her. I don't know the proper answer. Only I can say that Karna was never felt so much drawn to either Padma or to Supriya before. After the coming of Uruvi in his life, he forgot loyalty of Padma and devotion of Supriya to himself. God knew why?!!!

That was the reason of his lashing out over Padma that I already depicted in the previous chapter. Now let us try to concentrate on the upcoming events.
