The atmosphere inside Hazbin Hotel buzzed with activity as Y/n wandered through the bustling halls, taking in the colorful chaos around her. The vibrant decor and the array of unique characters were overwhelming, but she felt a strange sense of belonging. Charlie had been welcoming, eager to show her around and introduce her to the other residents.“Are you sure you’re okay?” Charlie asked, glancing at Y/n with concern. “You seem a bit lost.”
“I’m fine,” Y/n replied with a smile, though she couldn’t shake the feeling that something—or someone—was missing from her life. “Just trying to soak it all in.”
As they walked past a large common room filled with laughter and chatter, Y/n suddenly stopped, her gaze caught by a figure standing at the far end. Dressed in a striking white suit, his presence was commanding, drawing the attention of everyone around him.
“Who’s that?” Y/n asked, her curiosity piqued.
“That’s my dad, Lucifer,” Charlie replied casually.
Y/n’s heart raced at the name, but she felt no recognition. She had no memory of him, just a vague sense of familiarity that left her puzzled. “Lucifer? He looks... interesting.”
“Interesting is one way to put it,” Charlie said with a smirk. “Just wait until he starts talking about his rubber duck collection.”
Y/n raised an eyebrow. “Rubber ducks? Really?”
“Oh, it’s a whole thing,” Charlie laughed. “He takes it very seriously.”
As they approached, Lucifer’s gaze locked onto Y/n’s, his face lighting up with a mix of anticipation and hope. But as he drew nearer, his expression shifted to one of hurt and confusion.
“Y/n?” Lucifer’s voice wavered, his usual charm replaced by a hint of desperation. “Is it really you?”
Y/n looked at him with a puzzled expression. “Uh, hi. I’m Y/n. I’m not sure if we’ve met before.”
Lucifer’s heart sank. He extended a hand, trying to mask his hurt with a strained smile. “It’s a pleasure to meet you. I’ve been searching for you for a very long time.”
Y/n shook his hand, though her eyes remained cautious. “I’m sorry, but I don’t remember you. Should I?”
Lucifer’s face fell. “I— I’m not sure how to explain. I had hoped... hoped that maybe you’d remember something, anything.”
Charlie watched, her enthusiasm giving way to concern. “Dad, maybe we should take it slow.”
Lucifer tried to steady his voice, masking the pain. “Of course. I understand.”
As he tried to regain his composure, Alastor approached with his usual sinister grin, clearly enjoying the awkward interaction.
“Well, well,” Alastor said, his voice dripping with mockery. “The illustrious Lucifer, looking a bit out of sorts. How delightful.”
Lucifer’s eyes narrowed at the Radio Demon. “Alastor.”
“Oh, don’t be so formal, your majesty” Alastor replied, his grin widening. “I’m just here to observe the spectacle.”
Y/n glanced between them, sensing the tension. “Are you two always like this?”
“Only when our interests clash,” Lucifer said through gritted teeth.
Alastor chuckled. “And they do, often. But don’t let me interrupt your emotional reunion.”
Lucifer shot Alastor a pointed look before turning his attention back to Y/n. “I’m sorry, Y/n. I didn’t mean to overwhelm you. I’ve just been searching for you for so long. It’s difficult to see you here, in Hell, without any memory of me.”
Y/n’s expression softened slightly, though she remained unsure. “I can’t remember anything about my past. I don’t even know how I got here.”
“It’s all right,” Lucifer said, his voice gentle despite his inner turmoil. “We’ll figure it out together.”
Alastor, clearly bored, began to drift away. “Well, I’m sure you’ll have all the time in the world to work that out. I’ll leave you to your family drama.”
As Alastor disappeared into the crowd, Lucifer turned back to Y/n, his gaze hopeful yet tinged with sadness. “It’s just that... I’ve missed you. I thought you were still in Heaven. When I heard you were missing, it was like losing you all over again.”
Y/n took a deep breath, her confusion mingling with a sense of empathy. “I’m sorry if I’m causing you pain. I really don’t remember anything.”
Lucifer nodded, though his eyes betrayed the depth of his hurt. “We’ll figure it out, Y/n. I promise. Just... give it time.”
Y/n nodded, offering a faint smile. “Okay. I’ll try.”
As they stood there, the bustling hotel seemed to fade into the background. Though Y/n didn’t remember Lucifer, and the encounter had been emotionally charged, there was a sense of tentative hope in the air. They had taken the first step towards understanding each other, despite the lingering questions and unspoken pain.
With a heavy heart but a glimmer of hope, Lucifer watched as Y/n walked away with Charlie. The journey to uncover their past was just beginning, but for the first time in a long while, Lucifer felt that perhaps the threads of fate were finally starting to weave back together.
