Accidental Overdose?

We got a call from the hospital and were asked to come down to see them it was important. Before we were able to get dressed we got alerts on our phones. I read the alert and nearly faint. With our family being in the press a lot we try to be on top of erroneous reports and get them resolved just like Barney told us we might want to keep up with them and not get surprised.

News Flash We have just heard that Mia Grey was found dead in her room at the hospital she was locked up in after she was committed after she was found to be in need of mental healthcare by a judge. More information as we get it later.

I wake Carrick up and then go shower and get dressed. It's four in the morning. We finally arrive and are met with the hospital administrator and the head doctor. They guide us to their office and I pretend I haven't read the news alerts.

I am wearing my power suit because I want to know if my daughter is dead  like the alerts have been popping up since three am. If it were just one and we weren't called by these two to come down at this time of the morning I would think it was fake news. But by the looks of it Mia is dead and it was an overdose. I want to know how my daughter overdosed in a facility they regulate everything they give to their patients. I listen to them and all I hear is excuses and I want my daughter's medical records. Grace is sitting there and saying the same thing and how did this happen?

As we are being told how it happened I see Grace's eyes widen as she reads the medicine list for Mia and she points to the name of the nurse and she demands to know if the woman truly had a nursing degree and license? Leila Williams a classmate of Mia's was the one who gave Mia last injection and it was a fatal dose.

I am listening to the Grey's after we told them Mia died of an overdose. I see that Nurse Williams was being called into question. We just hired her and she was assigned to B ward where Mia Grey was. It was a week ago that she was trained on the medicines for each patient. She mixed up the dosage on just one patient and now I hear she went to school with the patient and she also pressed charges against Mia Grey and she was found not guilty on miss Williams charges. We fired her immediately and reported her to the licensing office and found out there was no such nursing license for a Leila Williams.

I am looking at the parents and feeling awful, but I didn't hire the nurse. I am just here to help explain what happened with their daughter and get them to decide on what to do with her body. There is going to be an investigation of course. We also have a leak and now we know it must be miss Williams.

Elliott
Mom and dad call and tell me the bad news about Mia. I am in shock and they have to wait until the investigation is over before we can have a funeral. I look over at the blonde woman who is still asleep and I get up go shower and throw my clothes on and leave for home. I can't keep doing this any longer. Christian had the right idea getting married to Anastasia and they are having twin boys now. I try to go to work but I end up going to see my parents. Christian and Anastasia are there along with Kate. Grandma and grandpa are crying for Mia.

Christian
Anastasia is trying to help us get through this but she's thinking about how she pressed charges on Mia that brought others out of the woodwork and eventually she ended up dead. Mom and dad are looking into how this happened. I hold her in my arms and calm her down. I am pretty upset about Mia's death. She was one of her victims and there were many. We have been through hell because of Mia.

Anastasia
I am finally realizing it is not my fault that this happened because if she hadn't done all that other stuff to others she might have been able to serve time in jail and released. It was shocking how many people came forward telling how she hurt them. I still can't believe she is really dead, something is off about the whole thing. I hear they suspect that Leila Williams had something to do with Mia's death. They are doing an autopsy on the body if they can locate it. Apparently it disappeared when the head doctor and the administrator had Grace and Carrick in his office trying to explain things to them. Leila got hired as a nurse but she had no license or degree. They just copied her things without checking the validity of the two items.

I am saddened by Mia's death and I treated her badly but I merely wanted her to be her own person and build her own life and career without depending on a rich partner to support her. I finally just dropped the whole deal about the money after hearing about her mother.

I ripped the contract up long ago because I felt that we should have helped her without strings attached to our help. Sadly we should have gotten her help immediately afterward. Hindsight is not something we can keep looking back on. We should have been more forthcoming with Grace, Carrick and Christian about what happened in France. Can't bring Mia back now and we have to learn from our mistakes and grow from them as well.
