The air was buzzing with excitement. It was the day the sports championship would be announced, and the whole campus seemed to pulse with energy. In one of the large common areas, a group of students gathered, talking animatedly about the upcoming matches, each more excited than the next.
"Finally, one of the most awaited moments is here!" one girl exclaimed, her eyes lighting up as she flipped her hair back. "I've been counting down the days for this announcement."
"Yes, oh my god!" her friend jumped in, practically squealing. "Just thinking about all those bad boys on the field-ugh, I can't wait!" She clasped her hands together dramatically. "They look so fierce, especially in those tight jerseys. It's going to be wild!"
As they dissolved into giggles, Ivy walked by, on her way to her locker, weaving through the bustling corridor. She barely paid attention to the conversation at first, her mind elsewhere, but then she caught a name-Taehyung. She froze, curiosity awakened.
"Did you hear?" one of the girls continued, lowering her voice slightly. "Taehyung is going to participate this year too. I mean, obviously, he's the captain."
The other girl let out a dreamy sigh. "Yeah, and even though he's quiet most of the time, you can just tell there's something... intense about him. Remember that time his teammate messed up? The way he glared, oh my god, I've never seen anything so hot!" They burst out laughing, completely unaware of how their conversation was affecting the girl standing nearby.
Ivy stood rooted to the spot, her fingers curling into fists at her sides. How dare they? She couldn't believe how shamelessly they were talking about him-her Taehyung . Well, not exactly hers yet, but she wasn't going to let these girls swoon over him like that. He's more than just a pretty face, idiots, she thought, her jaw tightening. But deep down, she couldn't deny that they had a point.
Taehyung, with his sharp features and quiet intensity, really did look like a Greek god. She had to admit, even she found that moment where he lost his cool... thrilling.
"Still," Ivy muttered to herself, crossing her arms, "they have no idea." She tried to calm herself down, reminding herself that they didn't know about her feelings for Taehyung. They couldn't possibly understand the depth of her desire to make him hers. They were just being... typical, gossipy girls.
"But remember last year?" one of the girls said, her voice pulling Ivy out of her thoughts. "When Taehyung carried his team to victory almost single-handedly? The whole stadium was cheering for him, it was insane. No wonder the boys respect him so much."
The other girl nodded vigorously. "He's so mysterious, though. That makes him even more attractive. I wonder what it'd be like to get his attention, just for a second."
Ivy could feel the heat rising in her cheeks. Get his attention? She clenched her jaw, her heart thudding in her chest.
But instead of confronting them, Ivy decided to walk away, forcing herself to stay calm. It wasn't worth it, she reasoned. Let them have their silly fantasies. They were just girls, after all, with no clue about her connection to him, even if it was one-sided for now. She had plans, and she wasn't about to let some meaningless chatter derail her. She'd bide her time, and soon enough, everyone would know that Taehyung wasn't just the campus hero. He was hers-whether they knew it or not.
