Just a quick chapter...Enjoy!

-----------------

The rest of that day consisted of us helping Jasmin making the finishing touches on the outfits for the dance. She didn't seem the least bit tired throughout the whole thing, but the boys were becoming sleepy when it started to get close to ten. By now my sister and mother were home and wondering where the hell I was because my phone kept going off. They were probably wondering because I rode in Dalton's truck. I had to come up with the excuse of that I was out with a friend and the texting stopped from them.

They were probably laughing about me not having friends while sitting in the living room watching movies. I would be surprise with that. They were like that. they probably wouldn't even care if I came home or not. Well, my mother would. But that's only because she doesn't want me having fun and living life. Alright that might be exaggerated. She doesn't like me out late for some reason.

But I knew that I had to get home soon, otherwise my mother would ground me for being out late. I needed to be home in case she needed me to do something "important" for her.

"Jasmin?" I said.

"Yes dear?" She asked while fitting the new dress shirt on Charlie. He looked lot better with the camouflaged dress shirt then that bright orange one he was wearing earlier. Bright colors looked weird on him.

"I need to get home," I held up my phone. "My mother is wondering where I am."

"Well, alright. I have your size anyways. I can finish the dress." I glance at the dress that was back on the dummy. I took it off because I was becoming too warm in it. Dalton lifted his head and turned to me.

"Do you need a ride?"

"Yes, please." I spoke getting up.

"Okay," He smiled. I said my good-byes before leaving with Dalton. There was a comfortable silence between us once we got to his truck and were heading down the road. Then Dalton spoke again, "Are you excited?"

"More than I could be," I flashed a smile.

"That's good," He replied. "The dance's next week, on Friday."

"That's convenient."

"Why's that?"

"Diana gave me work off that day, she's training a new girl we have."

"Good, keep it that way." He chuckled softly.

"Is it alright if I keep the dress at your house?"

"Of course...why do you ask?"

"Well if my sister saw it that would be a problem."

"Hey, why don't you come over and get ready at my home then. My mother can help with hair and make-up. Though she will do it early, because she also needs to get herself ready, along with my father."

"I have yet to meet your dad," I replied.

"He's a busy man, but you'll see him next time you come to dinner."

I grinned, "And when will that be?"

"Tomorrow?"

"Sure," I smiled.

"Awesome," In the darkness I stared out at the road. We weren't far from my home, maybe five more minutes. Everything was silent and in that moment I noticed Dalton place his hand on the console. His hand laid open, with his fingers spread apart. If I remembered correctly, from some of the romance books I have read. That was an invitation to hold the man's hand. I glanced up at his face and he's eyes turned to me for a second before looking back at the road. He spoke, "If you want to...I just, um...yeah." I couldn't tell if he was blushing or not, it was too dark out to tell.

The corner of my lips turned up shyly and I reached over placing my hand on top of his, then lacing our fingers together. His hand was bigger and rougher than mine. It made me feel small next to him. I couldn't hold back the smile as I held Dalton's hand for the rest of the ride home.

Once his truck came to a stop in the driveway. I noticed that my mother and Peaches were upstairs from the lack of light from the windows downstairs.

"Do you have work tomorrow?"

"Yeah, till three though." I replied while glancing down at our hands. I enjoyed the feeling of it too much and it filled me with so much happiness.

"I'll have Charlie get you, if that's alright, I have business to attend to till four."

"Okay, that sounds good." I nodded.

"Good," He smiled while leaning in. Then I felt his lips press against my forehead lightly in a kiss, "Good night Angel."

"Good night Dalton," I hesitated for a moment before taking the chance and kissing his cheek quickly. "Thanks for everything," His body became stiff and then his eyes soften.

"You're welcome," He smiled lovingly.
