Charlie left ten minutes after that little kiss he gave me. He wouldn't go until he knew that I was okay and that I was back to my normal self. I spent the next half hour afterwards trying to return to my normal self before my mother came back to get me and force me to watch Peaches on TV.
The show was on commercial as a make-up artist fixed up Amina's make-up. Standing near me was Peaches, who was going to walk out on the show in a pair of black pumps, a tight black skirt, and a fashionable white blouse with black poke-a-dots. Formal and professional.
My mother helped her get ready to walk on and I stood to the side and watched them. I glanced out to the audience who sat there talking to each other and looks like they were all having a good time. I seemed to be the only one who wasn't happy right now.
"Will be on in twenty seconds," The back stage manager spoke and everyone started to get ready. As the seconds counted down you could see a man motioning with his fingers and once the countdown was done, everyone started clapping. Amina looked into the cameras as she sat in a high stool with a table next to her. Across from her was another stool, which was were Peaches was going to sit.
"Alright, welcome back America. Next on the show, I have celebrity model Peaches Westcott coming out to talk about the latest conflict that arose involving an unknown girl and famous country music artist, Dalton Mountains." She glanced at the cards in her hands for half a second and Peaches squeaked next to me in excitement. She always loved the TV, "This story has been surfing the internet like a storm after an unknown girl arrived with Dalton Mountains at an annual social event that Peaches was attending." The famous picture of Dalton, Charlie, and I appeared on the screen behind Amina. "She rocked the red carpet with her dashing date and his body guard in a bold orange dress accented with camouflaged and wearing a matching mask to hide her identity." She glanced back at the picture, "Don't they look amazing?" The audience clapped wildly and I bit back a smile from the attention. I could see Peaches was hating how she was talking about Dalton, Charlie, and I because she growled annoyed.
"Nicknamed: The Huntress, this mysterious girl has yet to be revealed. Both Dalton and his mother protected her identity when asked questions by the press. During the ball, the mystery girl and Peaches had bumped heads causing a stir and making Peaches run out in tears." There were a couple collective 'boos' that came from the people in the stands. "The story spread like wildfire in the news and on the internet. Dalton Mountains had made an appearance on Jay and Molly a couple days ago and talked about the conflicted that happened with his date. Dalton would only explain what happened, didn't reveal who his date was, and told Jay and Molly that Peaches tried taking him from his date, threatened his date, and could use a reality check on life.
"Let's bring Peaches Westcott out! Come on out girl!" Amina waved over to where Peaches stood. Everyone started to clap loudly and shouting to Peaches. Peaches walked out with a show of seriousness but she smiled and waved to everyone as she made her way over to the table and stool. Pictures of Peaches showed up on the screen in her dress and mask. Once she was seated, the clapping calmed down and once it was quiet Amina started to speak. "It's great to have you back on the show Peaches."
"It's wonderful to be back," Peaches showed her winning smile and everyone clapped. I watched my mother off to the side staring over to where Peaches was at. She was clapping and grinning just like everyone else. I stood still.
