"Cherry!"

My eyes shot open to see Dalton looking at me with the same expression on his face that I had. We both heard Peaches's loud voice echo through the house and she didn't sound happy about something. I sat up quickly and rubbed my eyes to get the blur out of my vision.

"Shit," Dalton rolled out of my bed and ran over to my door to slam it shut. The noise caught Peaches ear because I heard her call for my name again and then her heels were clicking up the stairs. "What the hell time is it?"

"Three," I looked confused at my clock. Why the hell was Peaches home so early? I thought she was out with my mother? Was my mother home or was she still out? This isn't good. My heart started to race with fear at what could happen if Peaches were to find out about Dalton.

"Cherry!" There was a loud knock at my door.

"My closet," I mouthed to him not knowing what else to say and he was there within a blink of an eye.

"Come on! I know your home! Who's damn truck is in the driveway blocking my parking spot!?"

I tried to calm myself down as the best I could but that didn't seem to work because I could feel the nerves shaking through me. It felt like my skin was crawling as I tried to calm myself. I forced myself to keep my body still as I opened the door.

Peaches stood there wearing a black dress and golden pumps. Her hair was down in her perfect loose curls and make-up done perfectly like always. She glared at me.

"Whose truck is outside?"

Only one thing could pop in my mind, "A girl from work...I—I was cleaning out my stuff and asked her if she would like to try on some of my clothes to see if they would fit." Peaches narrowed her eyes at me.

"Where is she?"

"In my closet...she's trying on stuff." I answered quickly and she gave a slow nod.

"They probably look better on her anyways. Whatever, just tell her to move that stupid truck." She went to turn around but stopped and turned back around, she seemed to want to say something but left it at that and walked over to her room. There was a final slam from her door and I let out a nervous breath. That was a close one. I closed my door and turned around to see Dalton walk out of my closet.

"Everything good?"

"Yeah," I spoke quietly so that I knew Peaches couldn't hear me. Dalton gave me a small smile and pulled me into my arms. He was shaking a little and it had to be because of nerves. "That was close."

"I should get going," He replied and I only gave a slow nod. I didn't want him to go just yet. I wanted him to stay but I knew he couldn't. After that close call, I don't think he would be coming over here again for a while. It was easier to hang out at his house or go somewhere where there are no other people around. "I'm sorry...I should have woken up earlier. This wouldn't have happened."

"You're fine."

"No, because you're a nervous wreck after that close call," He was right but I still didn't want him to go. "Hey, I love you Angel and as much as I would like to stay...we can't risk it."

"I love you too," I buried my face in the crook of his neck. He pulled me into a tight hug and for the moment there was silence.

"I love you more Angel," He gave me a sweet smile that sent butterflies through my stomach.
