I was studying in the library with my friend Shira, who was from another class and of course Mitsuri. As I flicked through my notes I began to think about something. I had a job back in my hometown but I don't have one here and I'd definetly need one if I want to visit my sisters and help pay for all of there needs. Kanae is sick too so I'd have to cover her hospital bills too. Kanao and Aoi have jobs so I can't just slack off. The problem is where would I get a job at?
"Is something wrong? You seem deep in thought." Shira asked.
"Shinobu-chan's probably thinking of something she needs to do." Mitsuri said, slightly analysing me.
"I need a job." I replied.
---------------------Giyuu's POV-------------------
I was in the school library looking at the books with Sabito and Makomo. I could hear them earsvdropping on Kocho's conversation with her friends. I don't why they were doing that but I just wanted to continue my quiet, peaceful life so I continued browsing through the shelves. Sabito and Makomo then looked at me. I was confused.
"What?" I asked.
"Did you hear that?" Sabito replied
"No because I'm not earsvdropping." I responded.
"Your meant to offer her a job." Makomo added.
"What job?" I asked.
"I'll do it myself." Makomo replied.
I don't know what they were up to but I knew it was going to affect me so I went to the nearest corner and stayed in it, mentally preparing myself. I think I saw a spider in the corner but oh well. Moments later, Kocho ran up to me, looking all excited. It was to early in the morning for this (it was about 4pm).
"Drop the details." Kocho said.
"What details?" I asked.
"Job details." She replied.
"What job?" I responded.
"The job details. Makomo said your workplace was hiring. Now tell me everything." Kocho explained.
"Oh that. I don't know all the details but they need someone to work there." I said.
"How helpful." Kocho replied sarcastically, rolling her eyes.
"What was I meant to say?" I asked.
"You could atleast tell me where you work."
"I work as a batista at a nearby coffee shop."
(I wrote everything above this in September it is now November)
"You know that job actaully suits you." She smirked.
"Thanks I guess?" I replied.
"Anyways, what is the shop called?" Kocho asked.
"Brookhaven Coffees." I said.
"Thanks, I'm gonna go now." Kocho replied.
Once she left I continued browsing the shelves and gently picked up the spider in the corner. I watched closely as it used its tiny legs to crawl on me. Sabito and Makomo walked over to me. I gave them a look that said 'what was that for?'. They just laughed.
(Is it me or does anyone love insects like if I see one I'll pick it up and I like feeding the ants in my garden. Everyone else hates insects tho so if ur like me pls let me know)
"How's your new coworker?" Sabito asked.
"She hasn't even got the job yet." I replied.
"She will tho." Makomo said.
"Why are you guys doing this?" I asked.
"We're helping you make friends." Sabito said.
Of course the two idiots were trying to help me make friends. I don't know why they chose Kocho but this is getting weird. I don't remember them ever thinking I was truly capable of making friends. They were saying I was hopeless last week.
"Oh." I replied.
"Where's the enthusiasm?" Makomo asked.
"I don't know probably somewhere in Africa." I said, "I'm going back to the dorm now."
I began to walk off. Sabito and Makomo just laughed. I don't know what was so funny. Maybe I'm just the only sane person here. Since I didn't have work today I was planning to chill in my room. Maybe listen to some music or read some manga. Maybe if I have some energy and motivation I'd even clean my room, although that would never happen.
I finally got to my dorm. I relaxed on my bed and scrolled on tiktok. I got a bit hungry so I decided to get something to eat. I saw some instant noodles but I wasn't the best chef and I was alone so I just made them and hoped for the best.
The next day
I left campus and went up to my small grey car. It was my first car so it was old and cheap but it worked and I liked it so I entered the door. As I was about to drive off, Kocho ran up to me and started banging on the car window. I then put the window down.
"What is it?" I asked.
"Can I have a ride? I'd be late on my first day if I walked and plus giving me a ride wouldn't hurt." She pleaded.
"Sure I guess." I replied.
"Thanks." She said as she got in the car.
Once she got inside I started driving through the busy streets of Tokyo. The cafe was about 10 minutes away. Kocho started touching up on her make up in the car.
"Do I look fine?" She asked.
"You look pretty." I replied.
"Thanks." She smiled.
It was rare to see her smile but she looked ethereal when she did it. I don't know why she would smile at this moment but I'd do anything to see her do it again. I adored the way her face made a soft expression. It gave me this weird feeling in my chest but I didn't know why. The rest of the journey was filled with awkward silence. We arrived and I park my car in the staff car park.
"We're here." I said.
"Well let's go then." She replied.
We walked into the store. It was my turn to clean the floors today so I sweeped them while one of my Co workers taught Kocho basically everything she needed to know about the job. Once I was done I went to the counter and started serving costumers.
After a long day of work, our shifts were finally over.
"I'm gonna go now, bye." Kocho said.
"Are you going to walk all the way back?" I asked.
"Yes I am." She replied.
"I could always give you a ride you know." I offered.
"I'd love that." She said.
We went back to the dorms and I went to bed. It was a tiring day of work and needed the rest so I shut my eyes and after an hour i fell asleep.
Sorr6 for the late chapter.
