I was never supposed to fall for someone like her.

The day I first saw Lilith was just like any other. My life at Akademi High School had always been a dull blur of meaningless routines: attending classes, blending into the background, and waiting for something—anything—to give my existence meaning. That day, everything changed.

It was during lunch. I remember the way the sunlight streamed through the classroom window, reflecting off her hair, casting a soft glow around her figure. Lilith was laughing, a sound so perfect that it felt like music, filling my chest with warmth and something... darker. I had never felt this way before. My heart raced, but it wasn't love at first sight. No, it was something far more intense. It was obsession.

Her smile. Her voice. Everything about her was perfect. She was flawless, and I wanted her—needed her—to be mine. My thoughts spiraled. I couldn't think of anything else. From that moment on, Lilith became my world. I watched her, memorized her every movement, her habits, her favorite places in school. She was kind, intelligent, and, above all, completely unaware of the storm she had ignited within me.

But there was a problem. There were others who noticed her too. Like Osana Najimi—her childhood friend. I watched them together, the way Osana looked at Lilith, the way she laughed with her, leaned into her personal space as though she had some unspoken right to be there.

It filled me with rage.

How dare Osana think she could get so close to Lilith? Did she not see that Lilith was mine?

I had to protect Lilith from people like Osana. People who could steal her away from me. And if that meant eliminating the competition, so be it. I would do anything—anything—to keep Lilith safe. She didn't need to know how far I would go. She didn't need to understand. All she needed was to be mine.
