The Eerie Rival

If Osana had been annoying and Kizana glamorous, Oka Ruto was something else entirely. She wasn't like the other girls at Akademi High. Oka was quiet, withdrawn, and obsessed with all things supernatural. As the president of the Occult Club, she spent her time in the dark corners of the school, performing strange rituals and researching paranormal phenomena.

Oka wasn't popular by any means. Most students avoided her and her club, calling her weird, creepy, or even dangerous. But not Lilith. I had hoped Lilith would stay away from someone as strange as Oka, but I should have known better. Lilith was kind-hearted and open-minded—qualities I loved about her, but ones that could lead her into dangerous situations.

Oka had caught Lilith's attention with her strange charm, pulling her into the world of the Occult Club. Lilith wasn't fully committed, but she was curious. She visited the clubroom after school, listening to Oka's stories of spirits and rituals. I watched from the shadows, feeling that same familiar burn of jealousy.

Lilith didn't belong in Oka's dark world. She belonged with me.

I had to act before Oka could pull Lilith in any deeper.

Learning Oka's Secrets

Oka Ruto wasn't easy to approach. She kept to herself, spending most of her time in the Occult Club room or in the school library, poring over ancient texts and strange symbols. I knew if I wanted to get close to her, I had to make her trust me.

So, I did something that made my skin crawl—I joined the Occult Club.

Oka was surprised to see me at the door, but she didn't question it. She welcomed me with a quiet nod, gesturing for me to sit down as she and the other club members gathered around a table covered in candles and strange, dark books.

For days, I attended the meetings, pretending to be interested in their rituals, their séances, their talk of spirits. Oka, as it turned out, was deeply superstitious. She believed in all of it—ghosts, curses, dark powers. She had convinced herself that the club's rituals could open a gateway to the supernatural.

I couldn't have asked for a better weakness.

The Ritual

Oka's obsession with the supernatural would be her undoing. It didn't take long to discover that Oka was planning something big—a ritual she believed would summon a powerful spirit. She had been preparing for weeks, gathering rare ingredients and sacred objects. She talked about it often, her eyes gleaming with excitement.

"I'm close," she whispered one afternoon during a club meeting. "I can feel it. This ritual will prove everything. The spirits will show themselves."

The other club members nodded along, too nervous to question her, but I saw my opportunity. I could use this ritual—twist it, turn it into something deadly.

All I needed was for Oka to believe the ritual had gone wrong.

Setting the Stage

Oka's ritual was set to take place late one night after school, when the campus was empty. She had convinced her fellow club members, and Lilith, to join her. That was the last straw for me. I couldn't let Lilith be part of something so dangerous.

That night, I arrived at the clubroom early, long before anyone else. Oka had already set up most of the ritual—candles were arranged in a circle, strange symbols drawn on the floor, and in the center of it all was an ancient-looking book, its pages filled with strange, cryptic text.
