The Ultimate Rival

Megami Saikou wasn't like the others. She wasn't drawn to Lilith romantically, nor did she want to hurt her. Instead, she was trying to protect her—protect her from me.

As the president of the student council and the heir to the powerful Saikou Corporation, Megami had influence, power, and intelligence. She wasn't just another rival vying for Lilith's attention. She saw through me from the very beginning. Unlike the other girls, Megami wasn't easily manipulated or intimidated. She was strong, determined, and fiercely protective of everything she cared about.

And now, she had her sights set on me.

Megami wasn't going to let me get close to Lilith without a fight. I could feel her eyes on me every time I entered the school grounds, her gaze cold and calculating. She knew I was up to something, even if she didn't have proof. She was waiting for me to slip up, for a moment of weakness she could exploit.

But that moment would never come. Because Megami wouldn't see me as her enemy.

She would see me as her friend.

The Challenge of Megami

Befriending Megami Saikou wasn't going to be easy. She was suspicious of me from the start, watching every move I made, questioning everything I did. I couldn't get close to her directly—not at first. I had to play a long, patient game, slowly earning her trust.

The first step was to understand her better. Megami wasn't just a student—she was a leader, someone who valued order, discipline, and strength. She prided herself on her ability to maintain control over the school and its students. But she wasn't without her vulnerabilities. Megami was under constant pressure, not just from her responsibilities at school but from her family as well. The weight of being the Saikou heir was heavy, and even Megami wasn't immune to the strain.

I decided to approach her carefully, showing her that I understood and respected the values she held dear. To gain Megami's trust, I needed to become someone who shared her vision for the school and Lilith's safety. I had to prove that I wasn't a threat, but an ally.

The Plan: Earning Megami's Trust

Step by step, I began integrating myself into Megami's world. I joined the student council as a volunteer, assisting with small tasks, staying in the background, and never drawing too much attention to myself. I didn't push for her trust immediately—patience was key. Instead, I quietly supported the council's efforts, helping them maintain order during school events, enforcing the rules, and keeping the peace.

At first, Megami didn't say much to me. She watched me, studied me, still wary of my intentions. But slowly, as she saw my dedication to the school and my commitment to upholding the rules, she began to soften. I was careful to always remain respectful of her authority, never challenging her decisions or trying to overstep my bounds. I wanted her to see me as someone who believed in the same things she did.

Eventually, Megami began to speak to me more often. At first, it was just about student council matters—assignments, responsibilities, and school policies. But over time, our conversations became more personal. She confided in me about the pressure she was under from her family, the expectations placed on her as the heir to Saikou Corporation.

"I can't afford to make mistakes," she said one afternoon, her voice quiet but firm. "Everyone is counting on me to succeed. I have to be perfect."

I nodded, pretending to understand. "That must be exhausting. You're doing an incredible job, though. The school runs like clockwork because of you."

Megami glanced at me, surprised by the compliment. "Thank you. I appreciate that."

That was the turning point. Little by little, Megami began to trust me more, seeing me as someone who understood the immense pressure she was under. I became her confidant, someone she could rely on to help with the burdens she carried.

But more importantly, she began to believe that I wasn't a threat to Lilith at all.

Breaking Down Her Defenses

With Megami's trust growing, I subtly shifted the dynamic between us. Instead of just focusing on the school, I brought Lilith into our conversations. I praised her, speaking of her kindness, her intelligence, and how much I admired her.

"I want what's best for Lilith," I told Megami one day. "Just like you do. She's important to both of us."

Megami nodded, her expression thoughtful. "Lilith is... special. She's kind-hearted, and I don't want anyone to take advantage of that."

"I agree," I said. "I've always respected how much you care about her. I care about her too. I would never want to hurt her."

For the first time, I saw the suspicion in Megami's eyes begin to fade. She still had her guard up, but it wasn't as strong as it had been before. She was starting to see me not as an enemy, but as someone who genuinely cared about Lilith, just like she did.

We continued working together on student council matters, and our friendship deepened. I became someone she trusted—someone she confided in, relied on. And in time, her constant surveillance of me relaxed. She no longer saw me as a threat, and she no longer felt the need to keep Lilith away from me.

In fact, she began encouraging Lilith to spend more time with me.

Megami's Acceptance

After weeks of careful maneuvering, Megami had fully accepted me as a friend and ally. The tension that had once existed between us had disappeared, replaced by a mutual respect. Megami no longer questioned my motives or my relationship with Lilith. In fact, she believed that I was the right person to support and protect Lilith in the same way she did.

"I've been watching you," Megami said one afternoon, as we walked through the school grounds. "At first, I was suspicious. I thought you were dangerous. But you've proven me wrong. You're good for Lilith. I'm glad you're in her life."

Her words were exactly what I had been waiting for. Megami had finally let down her guard. She saw me as an ally, someone who shared her values and wanted what was best for Lilith.

With Megami's trust fully secured, she no longer stood in my way. She no longer monitored my every move. Instead, she supported my growing relationship with Lilith, seeing it as something positive, something that would benefit her friend.

The Aftermath

Megami Saikou was no longer an obstacle.

She had been the most difficult rival to overcome, not because of her feelings for Lilith, but because of her protective nature. But by earning her trust, by becoming her friend, I had removed her from my path without a single confrontation. She now believed that I was on the same side, that we both wanted what was best for Lilith.

With Megami's approval, the final barrier between Lilith and me had been removed.

Ten rivals down. The game was finally over.
