The Toughest Rival
Osoro Shidesu was feared by everyone at Akademi High. As the leader of the delinquents, she ruled the school's darker corners with an iron fist. She was tough, brash, and dangerous. Her sharp eyes and battle-hardened appearance made it clear that she wasn't someone you wanted to mess with. Most students kept their distance, terrified of what she might do if they crossed her.
But there was something else about Osoro. Beneath her tough exterior, she had a sense of loyalty—a fierce, almost protective nature toward those she cared about. And now, for some reason, that protective instinct had been directed at Lilith.
Osoro had taken an interest in Lilith, not because she was like the other rivals—flirty or charming—but because she saw something innocent in Lilith. Something that needed to be shielded from the harshness of the world. At first, it seemed like a simple crush, but it quickly became clear that Osoro was willing to go to great lengths to keep Lilith safe, even if it meant stepping in to defend her from other students.
Lilith, being the kind-hearted person she was, didn't see Osoro as dangerous. She saw her as misunderstood, someone who just needed a friend. And Osoro was more than willing to take on the role of Lilith's protector, even if it meant resorting to violence.
This couldn't continue.
Osoro wasn't like the other rivals. She didn't rely on charm or popularity to win Lilith over. She used fear and strength. And that made her a bigger threat than any of the others.
I had to eliminate her.
The Challenge of Osoro
Getting close to Osoro was going to be difficult. She didn't trust easily, and she didn't let just anyone into her inner circle. The delinquents followed her blindly, out of respect and fear, and I knew I couldn't challenge her directly. I needed to find another way to bring her down—something that would weaken her grip on the school and make her vulnerable.
But then I realized something important. Osoro's power came from fear, from her reputation as a delinquent. But that same reputation could also be her downfall. If I could push her to act recklessly, to lash out in a way that crossed the line, she would lose control. The school would have no choice but to expel her, and her reputation would be destroyed.
It was time to provoke the beast.
Setting the Stage
Osoro's temper was well-known. She had been in countless fights, often leaving her opponents bloodied and bruised. But somehow, she had always managed to avoid serious consequences. The teachers looked the other way, afraid to confront her. But I knew if I could push her into a public fight, something violent enough, the administration wouldn't be able to ignore it.
I started small. I spread rumors about Lilith—whispers that Osoro couldn't protect her, that other students were planning to hurt her behind Osoro's back. The rumors reached Osoro quickly, and I could see the fire in her eyes every time she heard someone talking about Lilith. Her protective instinct was kicking in, and it was only a matter of time before she snapped.
The delinquents were loyal to Osoro, but they were also opportunistic. I spread the same rumors to them, letting the tension build within their ranks. Some of them began questioning whether Osoro was losing her edge, whether she was too focused on Lilith to lead them properly. The seeds of doubt were planted.
But I needed a spark to light the fuse.
The Final Fight
The perfect opportunity came one afternoon when I overheard Osoro talking to Lilith by the school gates. They were alone, the delinquents keeping watch from a distance. Osoro was trying to reassure Lilith, telling her that no one would ever hurt her as long as she was around. Lilith smiled, clearly grateful for Osoro's protection.
That's when I made my move.
I approached them slowly, my heart racing as I spoke loud enough for Osoro to hear. "It's funny, Osoro. I've heard people talking about how you've gone soft since you started hanging out with Lilith. They're saying you're too distracted to be the tough delinquent leader you used to be."
Osoro's eyes snapped toward me, narrowing dangerously. "What did you say?"
I shrugged, feigning innocence. "I'm just saying what I've heard. People are starting to think you can't protect Lilith. Maybe they're right."
Her fists clenched at her sides, the muscles in her arms tensing. "You want to say that again?"
I smirked, knowing I had hit a nerve. "I don't need to. You're already proving them right."
That was all it took.
Osoro lunged at me, her fist swinging toward my face. I dodged, backing away as she shouted, her voice filled with rage. "I'll kill you!"
Students nearby turned to watch, their eyes wide as they realized what was happening. Osoro didn't stop. She came at me again, her fists flying as she tried to land a hit. I made sure to keep backing away, letting her rage build as the crowd grew larger.
Finally, she snapped completely.
Osoro grabbed one of the nearby delinquents by the collar, shoving him against the wall with such force that his head slammed into the brick, leaving a streak of blood. He cried out in pain, but Osoro didn't stop. She was out of control, her anger blinding her to the damage she was causing.
The Consequences
The teachers arrived too late to stop the fight. By the time they pulled Osoro away, the damage had been done. Several students were injured, including one who had to be taken to the nurse's office with a broken arm.
The administration couldn't ignore this. Osoro had gone too far, and with so many witnesses, there was no way they could cover it up. The school called in the police, and within days, Osoro was expelled. Her reputation as the toughest student in Akademi High was shattered, her control over the delinquents broken.
But the real blow came when Lilith distanced herself from Osoro. She was horrified by what had happened, unable to understand why Osoro had acted so violently. Lilith had seen Osoro as a protector, but now she realized that Osoro's violence wasn't something she could condone.
In the end, Osoro's desire to protect Lilith had been her undoing.
The Aftermath
Osoro was gone, expelled from the school and abandoned by her followers. The delinquents, without their leader, scattered, and the fear that had once gripped the school began to fade. Lilith, though shaken by the events, seemed to move on quickly. She didn't speak much about Osoro after that, as though she had been just another troubled student who lost control.
As for me, I felt nothing but satisfaction. Osoro had been eliminated, and Lilith was no longer under her influence.
Eight rivals down. Two more to go.
