The Rising Star

Kizana Sunobu was no stranger to the spotlight. She lived for it. As president of the Drama Club, she commanded attention with every movement, every word she spoke. Students flocked to her performances, drawn to her charisma and confidence. She thrived on their admiration, and she knew exactly how to wield her influence.

When Lilith started spending more time with the Drama Club, Kizana wasted no time in casting her for a role in the club's next big production. It wasn't long before Lilith was rehearsing with Kizana every afternoon, their bond growing stronger with every scene they shared. I could see it—Kizana's eyes lingering on Lilith, the subtle touches during rehearsals, the way she smiled whenever Lilith was near. It wasn't just acting. Kizana was making her move.

I clenched my fists, watching from the shadows as Kizana grew closer to Lilith, day by day. Her charm was dangerous, and Lilith was already falling for it.

I couldn't allow Kizana to take the stage in Lilith's life.

Finding a Weakness

Kizana's strength was her confidence, her ability to hold an audience captive. She wasn't insecure like Osana, or gentle like Amai. She was bold, unafraid, and used to getting what she wanted. To take her down, I needed to make a move so shocking, so devastating, that no one would suspect it was anything but a tragic accident.

Her arrogance would be her downfall.

The Drama Club was preparing for their biggest performance yet—a grand production that would be performed in front of the entire school. Kizana had, of course, cast herself as the lead. Lilith had a supporting role, and although I hated seeing them together on stage, I knew this was my opportunity. This performance would be Kizana's last.

The Plan: Fatal Performance

Kizana loved to rehearse in the gym, taking advantage of the large space for the play's grander scenes. The gym was equipped with heavy props, lighting equipment, and various backdrops that could be hoisted up and down from the ceiling. It was the perfect place for an "accident."

I spent days observing the gym setup, learning where everything was stored and how it was operated. The rigging system for the backdrops, in particular, caught my attention. It was simple—a series of ropes and pulleys used to lower scenery onto the stage. But it wasn't just scenery that could be hoisted into the air. I found a large, heavy weight used to balance the ropes. If something went wrong... if the weight were to fall at the right moment...

Kizana wouldn't survive.

Setting the Trap

The day of the final rehearsal arrived, and I knew it was my chance. The Drama Club was running through the play's most dramatic scene—Kizana's big moment. She stood center stage, delivering her lines with all the flair and confidence she was known for. Lilith watched from the side, waiting for her cue.

I stayed behind, out of sight, near the rigging system. I had loosened the ropes earlier in the day, making sure they would give way with just a little more tension. All I needed to do was wait for the right moment.

The weight was suspended high above the stage, held in place by the same ropes I had tampered with. Kizana had no idea her life was literally hanging by a thread.

As she launched into her final monologue, the entire club watched in awe, completely captivated by her performance. Kizana was in her element, soaking in the admiration. She didn't see me quietly slipping my hand to the rope, ready to release it.

I waited. One more line. Just one more.

Kizana took a step forward, lifting her arms dramatically.

Now.

I yanked on the rope, and the weight came crashing down.

The Death of Kizana

The sound was deafening—a sickening crack as the heavy object struck Kizana directly on the head. Her body crumpled to the floor, completely motionless. For a moment, no one moved. The entire Drama Club froze, shocked by what had just happened. The spotlight that had once shone so brightly on Kizana flickered and dimmed, casting her lifeless body in eerie shadow.

Screams filled the gym as students rushed to her side. Lilith was the first to reach her, dropping to her knees beside Kizana, her face pale with horror. "Kizana!" she cried, shaking her, but it was no use.

Kizana was dead.

The Drama Club was in chaos, and within minutes, teachers arrived, trying to restore order. The scene was quickly deemed an accident—an unfortunate mishap with the stage equipment. No one suspected foul play. After all, who would think someone had deliberately tampered with the ropes?

I stood in the crowd, watching as they covered Kizana's body and wheeled her away. Her reign as the queen of the Drama Club had come to an end. Permanently.

Aftermath

Lilith was devastated by Kizana's death. For days, she barely spoke, haunted by the memory of what had happened on stage. She didn't return to the Drama Club—none of the students did. The club was disbanded after Kizana's death, and the school mourned her passing.

But I felt nothing. No remorse. No guilt. Kizana had been in the way, and now she was gone. The path to Lilith was clear once more.

One more rival had been eliminated, and Lilith was mine to protect.

Three down. Seven to go.
