Chapter 24

I studied myself in the mirror, I looked good if I do say so myself. My dress, tight and hugged my figure. My makeup was done in perfection. And Alla was in the bathroom throwing up.

Wait-why was she throwing up???

I knocked on the bathroom, "Alla are you okay?" I asked

"I'm fine it was probably just something I ate."

I tried the door, and stepped into the bathroom. I held her hair and rubbed her back, "Are you sure you're not pregnant?"

She froze, "Um..."

"You are! Aren't you? When was your last period?"

"I don't remember."

"Oh boy. I'll be back." I told her before leaving the bathroom

I looked through my closet and found what I needed, a pregnancy test. I walked out of my room and bumped into Joel. He glanced at the pregnancy test and sighed. "Please tell me that's not for you?"

"Don't worry it's not." I said walking past him and into the bathroom, I handed her the test, "Here do it and we will look at it together."

"Okay."

I could tell she was nervous. Hell, I'd be nervous. If she was pregnant I would be happy for her, but it would be her decision to keep it. If she didn't decide to keep it, I'd be a bit sad, really. It was a big decision. Bringing a child into the world was not for everyone. But no matter what I would respect and support whatever she decided. And if she wasn't pregnant, well, that would be a good thing too. I would be there for both.

3 Minutes Later...

"You do it."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

My eyes glued on the test I turned it over, I let out a sigh of relief not seeing the positive symbol. "Your pregnant free girl."

"Oh." She said, I could see tears forming in her eyes

I frowned and turned around, "What's wrong?"

"I um...can I trust you with what I'm about to say?"

I nodded, "Of course."

She took a deep breath, "I want to be pregnant. I mean it's something I've wanted for a long time."

"Do you think Trent is the right guy?"

She nodded slowly, "He's a keeper."

"My advice is to just talk to him about it, and respect what he says because that's a big decision for the both of you."

"Yeah you're probably right I should just talk to him."

"Yeah and don;t be scared you're just speaking your mind. If he's the right guy he'll hear you out."

She hugged me, "Thanks Tess."

I slapped her butt, "Now come on before we miss the dance. Pretty sure the guys are waiting for us."

Her eyes widened, "Did I ruin my dress?"

I studied her dress, I didn't find anything wrong with it, "Nope you're good."

"Great." She said, I got a whiff of her breath

I backed away, "Maybe brush your teeth before we leave."

She laughed, "Ha okay."

I sat on the bleachers holding hands with Ryder as we watched everyone dance and enjoy themselves. Alla waved at me and I waved back, it looked like she was having a good time.

"We should definitely hit the dance floor when a slow song comes on," Ryder said, "Just me, you and the music."

"I'm not much of a dancer."

As if someone had heard us, a slow song started to play. Ryder chuckled and bowed, "May I have this dance?"

"God I wish a guy would treat me like that." I heard Emma say as she sat nearby

I laughed and took his hand, "Of course."

He wrapped his arm around my waist and I wrapped my arms around his neck as awe swayed to the music. I rested my head on his chest, "I love you."

"I love you too. I'm glad we decided to come."

"It was your idea."

"Indeed it was. One of the greatest."

Penelope came up to us, "Hey guys are you coming to the after party army house?"

"Jesus, how many parties do you need to throw?" I asked, she made a face of discomfort, "Sorry didn't mean to be rude. So we are invited then?"

"Duh."

"We'll be there." Ryder decided for the both of us

I looked at him, "We will?"

"We wouldn't miss it."

She grinned, "Okay great I'll see you guys there then." She left and we were alone again

"Why are we going?"

"It's our first last party of the year. We should go."

"Only if you want to. If you go, I go."

He kissed my forehead, "Good, I'm gonna go get us some punch. Let's hope it hasn't been spiked yet."

"Oh joy. I'm going to find Alla."

"Meet you back at the bleachers in 20?"

"Mhm."

He leaned in to kiss me when I realized we had an audience. Macey, Penelope, Amy, and Emma were all gathered together watching us practically fangirling at the sight of us.

I laughed, "One minute we're hated, the next we're the main attraction."

"Hey, they hated you, not me." He pointed out

"Yeah yeah get out of here."

I found Alla at the coffee bar, and why we had a coffee bar is beyond me. She was sipping an iced coffee when she spotted me as I approached her. She ran up to me and gave me a tight hug, "Bestie!!" She smelled like straight alcohol

"Jesus, did you rob a bar?" I questioned jokingly

Trent appeared out of nowhere, "She's been drinking for a while." He told me

"It certainly seems like it. Make sure she stays out of trouble?"

He gave me a nod, "Of course."

Someone wrapped their arm around my waist pulling me close to them, I almost freaked out but then I realized it was only Ryder with our drinks. He handed me a cup, "I checked if it was spiked, it wasn't."

I downed my drink, "I'd rather not be drunk during such a wonderful evening with you."

"Me too." He said. He sipped his drink before putting it down"Let's dance some more." Ryder suggested taking my hand and pulling me to the dance floor, I groaned but followed willingly

"Shut Up and Dance," started to play and we danced along to the music having the time of our lives. This evening almost felt like a dream. Everything was perfect, I was happy and nothing could take that away from me. I knew happiness didn't always last but for once I felt like things were finally going my way. I had Ryder who loved me more than I could process. I had my best friend who may or may not have a child within the next year and I was happy for her. I had a brother who cared so much about me and would do anything to protect me and have my back. I had a loving family who cared. I was blessed beyond and that made me feel good.

I didn't know what would happen after tonight but I was glad I was here. I. Felt. Good.

Ryder dipped me down and kissed me, tonight was perfect. "I love you!" I shouted over the music

He simply smiled back, "I love you too!"

I could finally say, I'm happy.
