Be Around Me

I woke up Friday afternoon.

Wow, I slept extremely late. Well it's only 12 but..

I'm in Sorscha's room. She pulled out her trundle bed for me so that I wouldn't be alone. Well that was after my mental breakdown at my house and after we got to hers. She held me while I cried, I've never cried in front of anyone before. She was the first person I've ever cried in front of. I knew she wouldn't judge me, my parents would, the kids in england would have, she never did. She just held me, comforted me. Her parents called me out of school. How they managed to fake a British accent with their heavy irish ones, I will never know but I thank them for that.

I realized Sorscha wasn't on her bed when I sat up. Where'd she go? I slowly get out of bed and stretch. I cautiously walk out to their living room. Sorscha's watching tv.

"Sorscha?" My voice is still very sleepy, I didn't even realize until she turned to me.

"Good morning Clo!" She smiled at me.

"Good morning.. well Afternoon?" She chuckles and agrees.

"So, since it's the afternoon. I was thinking that after last night you need a little pick. So how about we go get ice cream?" She asks.

"Ice cream? Yeah.. yeah.. I'd like that!" I pause. I didn't bring any clothes with me other than my school, "Uh Sorscha?"

"Yeah?" I looked at my current outfit. The one I went in yesterday, "Can I borrow some clothes? I didn't bring any.."

"Oh right, of course!" She got up and we walked to her room. Opening her closet, which she has yet to clean and is still stuffed to the brim, she finds some clothes for me. Her clothes are a bit large on me but I make it work. She gave me nirvana tshirt, and some skinny jeans.

"Sorry, I know you aren't a big fan of Rock but it's one of the only shirts that would fit you."

I look in her full length mirror that was hanging on her door, "No.. It's cute. I like it. Thank you!" Her clothes felt comfier than mine.

"Alright, We don't want to miss the train! I'll race you!" I yelled after her as she ran out of the house. When we got to the train station we started laughing, didn't even realize the train had stopped until we heard the announcements. We boarded the train, it took us into downtown.

Sorscha leads us to this small, locally owned, ice cream shop. The workers who Sorscha informed me are the owners speak Irish Gaelic, which was really unfortunate for me. I still can't even say Hello in Gaelic. She explained after that they are very traditional and try to keep the traditional Irish traditions alive which for them includes speaking exclusively Gaelic when possible.

Luckily she ordered for both of us. She got them both on a waffle cone however she got coffee icecream and I got cookie dough.
I tried to tell Sorscha I brought money with me but she refused to let me pay. I'll pay her back in some way.

"You like coffee?" I ask her.

"Yeah you didn't know?" I shake my head, "I love coffee!

"That makes sense, I personally like tea more." She pondered for a second, "Clo, that is the most you statement you've ever made." I snicker at her comment.

"That's what is the most me thing ever? Sorscha, we've literally known each other for 6 days, you haven't even learned half of my life." She chuckles.

"I know but I'm slowly getting to know you everyday!" She said pretty excitedly.

The way she is so excited to learn about me is so enticing. I love having a friend. Or.. Best friend. She keeps calling me her best friend, I don't exactly know what that entitles but I know that it means she thinks we are good friends. And that she trusts me.

Sorscha trusts me.

I trust her.

Oh my gosh.

I finally found someone I can trust.
I.
Can.
Trust.
Someone.

"Clo? Clodagh?" I have got to stop spacing out. Especially when I have ice cream because it is starting to drip into my hand. Sorscha was already almost to eating her cone.

"Sorry!" I grab a napkin and wipe off my hand and lick my ice cream to get the melting bits.

We decided to walk around town as we finish up our ice creams. One store sold jewelry so I begged Sorscha to go in. She gave in and we went inside. Sorscha was looking at different chains while I snuck off and looked at the bracelets.

Specifically..

"Got it!' I whisper and bring the jewelery to the clerk. He rings it up, telling me to have a good day with an even heavier accent than Sorscha and I grab the tiny bag from him. I look around the small shop for her but she's no where to be seen until I see her outside.

"Sorscha! I got us something!" I excitedly exclaim as I exit the shop. She raises a brow and slightly tilts her head.

"What'd you get?" she asks as I pulled out two bracelets from the bag. Forever bracelets. They don't come off. Hers was thin gold with tiny black gems and mine was old as well but with tiny pink gems. I put hers onto her wrist and clamped it shut. She insisted on putting mine on since I did her so I let her. She clamps it onto my wrist way swifter than I was able to.

We put our wrists next to each other so we can compare the bracelets. Hers was on her right wrist while mine was on my left. Our dominant hands yes but when we walk side by side, She's always on the left and I'm always on the right. So our bracelets wil be right next to each other when we hang out.

I don't seem to get tired when I hangout with Sorscha. She's like magic, I can't seem to figure out why she doesn't drain me but..

I'm glad she doesn't.
