(Time Skip)
297 days had passed since Liliya received the news about her recovery, and the world seemed to move on. The once-bustling routine of missions and training became a quieter, slower-paced life for her. While the others continued with their missions, she focused on healing, both physically and mentally.
During those long months, Liliya spent time getting used to the slower pace. Therapy sessions, light exercises, and constant check-ups were now a part of her daily routine. Y/n and Rozaliya frequently visited, keeping her updated on the latest events, never letting her feel left behind.
But lately, Liliya had developed an unusual habit-falling into deep, uninterrupted sleep. She would doze off while reading books, her favorite pastime, slipping into a slumber so profound that even the sound of the ward door opening wouldn't stir her.
One day, as Rozaliya came to visit her, she carefully opened the door, expecting to find Liliya awake, either reading or staring out the window as she often did. Instead, Rozaliya froze in shock. Liliya was fast asleep, her book resting on her chest. Rozaliya had never seen her sister sleep this deeply before.
Rozaliya sat down by Liliya's bedside, her expression intense as she picked up a fruit knife from the table. Without saying a word, she grabbed an apple and began to peel it, or at least tried to. Her technique was... chaotic, to say the least. Thick chunks of apple skin fell away, some pieces even taking part of the fruit with them. It was clear she had no idea what she was doing, but her determination was unshakable.
Liliya stirred at the sound of the clumsy knife work, her eyes fluttering open just in time to see her sister struggling with the apple. She blinked in confusion, then a worried look crossed her face as she saw Rozaliya concentrating way too hard on what should have been a simple task.
Liliya: Idiotka, are you trying to chop your own fingers?
Rozaliya: Eww, of course not... Eh? You're awake, Liliya?
Rozaliya's voice squeaked in surprise as she glanced up from the mangled apple in her hands.
Liliya: Uh-huh, I woke up when you sat down. I didn't make any sound because I wanted to see what surprise my idiot sister got me this time.
Liliya smirked teasingly, watching Rozaliya's face turn slightly red as she looked back down at the apple disaster.
Liliya: Idiotka, give those poor apples a break. I'm already happy that you're back safe and sound.
Rozaliya: Heehee~ You don't need to worry about me! Your big sis is a super strong fighter now~ I can beat 10 people all at once!
Rozaliya puffed out her chest proudly, her usual enthusiasm shining through. She began recounting her latest battle, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
Rozaliya: I defended an entire rebel force on my own this time! There were soooo many enemies, but your big sis...
Liliya's eyes dropped, her expression turning nonchalant yet tinged with sadness, trying to hide the heaviness in her heart as she listened. It was always the same with Rozaliya-bravery, battles, and victories. But for Liliya, each story was a reminder of her current state.
Liliya: Alright, alright, I got it, Idiotka.
But Rozaliya didn't notice the shift in her sister's mood. She was too wrapped up in her retelling.
Rozaliya: ...single-handedly fought them all off! I was like 'BAM!' and then 'BANG!' and they were like-
Frustration grew in Liliya's chest. The more Rozaliya talked, the heavier it felt, until finally, she couldn't take it anymore. She raised her voice, her frustration boiling over.
