Harry sat in class taking notes listening carefully towards his teacher. He knew they had a test in a few days and it wouldn't be easy, so he had to take notes and study a lot. Harry had always good grades and all that, but he had to study a lot for it, he hardly had any free time and when he had he'd spent it studying ahead. When he was younger he was placed in an orphanage and never really learned any skills a preschooler or primary schooler should have learned. He never learned to read or write, do maths or geography not any history. In the first six years of his life he couldn't even talk. His parents had died long before, his father had died during his mother's pregnancy and his mother died while giving birth. His parents had paid for high school when he was young so he was able to attend high school where he picked up the skills. Although he had to train very hard. He often wondered what would've happened if his parents didn't pay, he would've never ended up there and never learned to do anything.
"hey." Harry glanced up at his teacher and looked in his eyes. he quickly looked away and glanced around the classroom. It was empty.
Shit.
He had zoned out and everyone had already left. "sorry, I zoned out." He quickly packed his stuffed. "I noticed, you didn't miss much of the class, just gave an extra warning for the test." Draco smiled. "about that, can I make it next week Friday instead of this Friday?" Harry asked. Draco frowned at him. "why?" he asked and sat on Harry's desk. "the boys at home did something and now we're all punished and I don't really have the time to study." Harry replied. "you are an only child." Draco looked at him with a raised eyebrow. Harry sighed and stood up. "never mind, I'll study at night." Draco shook his head. "no just tell me and I can try to reason." Draco said. Harry sighed. "my parents died and I ended up in an orphanage, one of the older boys started shop lifting, Marton doesn't know which one and she makes us do all kinds of tasks now so that we don't have any free time. I'm the only one that goes to school, so the others don't have the trouble of homework or tests and now I don't have any time to study." Harry said. "but your grades are amazing really." Draco looked quite surprised. "I work hard for it, I couldn't read when I was in my first year here. I need to work very hard in order to get those grades." Harry said. Draco nodded empathically. "I understand, when are you expected home?" he looked at Harry. "it's not home, Matron doesn't really care." Harry said. he nodded. "I'll give you extra time until Friday, you have the whole week and if you have troubles studying at home we can try to study here after school okay?" Draco asked. "thanks, I should go. I told Matron I was cooking today." Harry turned towards the door. "if you ever have trouble Harry, come to me." Harry nodded. "have great day."
Harry put his backpack in his room and looked at his roommate's bed. He got shivers. Harry didn't like Brandon the boy was tall and intimidating, if he'd ever go to jail Harry wouldn't be all too surprised. He'd once beaten Harry up. Matron entered and interrupted his thoughts. "Potter, why aren't you helping downstairs?" she asked. "I'm busy with school." Harry pointed at the books he was getting out of his bag. She clicked her tongue. "how many times do I have to tell you that you will always help out?" she asked. "I didn't shoplift, and I don't need to be punished for it. I need good grades!" Harry said. "Harry James Potter, I will not tolerate this, you can go to town and get us bread." She said. Harry sighed it was raining outside and he knew he wasn't gonna get an umbrella with him. "get out of that uniform and put on the one from here." She said. Harry nodded. She walked off and with a heavy sigh Harry put on the uniform the boys had to wear when they had to go to town.
He went downstairs and Matron handed him her credit card. "you go to the bakery and get what I ordered there and if you even think of buying anything else you will be punished." Harry nodded slightly terrified of her. "the bike if at the gate." Harry walked outside and went towards the town. It was small and the big orphanage overshadowed it. The rain was heavy and his clothes were already sticking to his body. He wanted to cry, but that would only embarrass him. He knew the other boys would find out somehow and they'd bully him with it.
