It's a bitch watching the guy you like talking to girl after he just defended you. Even if the conversation doesn't seem flirty. It still pisses me off.

His eyes meet mine just briefly before he looks back at her. He seems annoyed. I can't tell if he's annoyed with me or her, but it almost looks like he wants me to come save him for her. If he looks at me again, I might just do that.

Whatever he says to her seems to stun her because her jaw slightly drops. He rolls his eyes and starts walking to the front door. Is he leaving? I just watched him down three shots back to back. That liquor is going to hit him all at once. He's not fucking driving, I know that for sure. I only had two beers and that one shot before the blunt. I did take one more with all of them to celebrate Wes but still, I at least spaced them out. I barely even feel drunk. But watching him trying to walk out the door makes me feel sober all over again.

I don't even try to stop myself from grabbing his wrist as he reaches for the doorknob.

"Where are you going?" I ask, keeping my grip on him

"Leaving," he mumbles, not even turning around. I thought so. But maybe he'll at least let me drive him. Or get him another Uber, though I doubt they pick up this far out from the city. Plus, I still want to talk to him about before.

"Well, could I talk to you before you go?" I ask, already preparing myself for the worst. He's a little drunk now. I'm not sure how bad he'll lash out.

And as he turns to look at me with the murderous glare in his eyes, I feel myself getting nervous. Please don't be that mean.

"I said no earlier. There's plenty of other people here that want to talk to you. Try one of them."

"Huh?" slips out of me before I can stop it. What's he talking about?

"Girl with black hair over there," he says, pointing his finger toward the kitchen where he just was. I don't even have to turn to know he's referring to the girl that he was just talking to. "She was asking about you." Ohhhh. I have to chew on the inside of my cheek to stop from smiling. I was expecting him to be angry when I approached him, but I didn't think it'd be because of jealously. I'm not even sure why he's jealous. He knows I'm into him. Or it he mad she was into me more than him? Either way, I find it funny.

"I don't care. I just want to talk to you," I assure him.

"Fine," he says with a shrug. Oh, I wasn't expecting him to agree so easily. "But I'm leaving after. Will you go find Alyx for me and tell him I'm leaving?" He must think I'm dumb. I mean, it is the first favor he's asking me, so I immediately want to, but I know what he's planning.

"If you promise not to leave while I do."

His pursed lips followed with the little huff he lets out lets me know that's exactly what he was going to do. "Whatever." That's not too promising, but if I hurry, it should be okay.

I finally step back and turn away from him to search for Alyx. He left Wes in the kitchen a few minutes ago which is when that girl came up to talk to him. Not seeing him anywhere in the living room, I pass a few people before seeing Alyx in the hallway with a worried expression on his face.

"Hey, Alyx. Wes is leaving, and I was going to go too and follow him to make sure he got home alright. You know, since he did end up drinking some," I explain, hoping it doesn't sound too weird. I'm not sure if Alyx knows anything at all, and I don't want to give anything away if Wes doesn't want him knowing yet. And I only plan to follow Wes if he refuses to let me drive him. I'm already planning on leaving my truck here, though. Lexi can get over it.
