Question- Is there anything you wished would've happen between the boys that didn't? Or like something you were thinking might happen but it didn't turn out that way? Just curious!!

The drive to my place took a little longer than usual since it started to rain some on the way. But it lightens up by the time we're here, so we remain mostly dry while getting inside.
"You can take your shoes off here since it rained," I tell him and lock the door behind us.
He kicks them off, and I hang my keys up before doing the same. I slide my jacket off and throw in on the back of my chair, taking the plate of food into the kitchen. Once it's in my fridge, I join him back by the door.
"So, what did you want to do?" I ask, crossing my arms over my chest.
"Uhh, I don't know."
"What did you have in mind when you invited yourself over?" I retort.
"I'm not sure," he mumbles. I mentally sigh. I guess I have to be the one to come up with something. He looks a little down still. I wonder if it's about him feeling bad. Or all the talk about his ex. Probably both.
"Well, do you want to play one of my games? Or do you want to watch a movie?" I offer. "Or maybe we could talk?"
"Talk?" he questions. "About what?"
"Whatever. I was kind of wanting to ask you about what happened during dinner."
"Huh? What do you mean?"
"Do you want to sit down first?" I ask, not really wanting to have a long conversation by my door again. "Unless you want to stand. It's up to you." Fuck, I said I wasn't going to be as nice to him.
"Whatever," he grumbles with a shrug before crossing his arms to stalk over to my couch. Ughhh, he doesn't even deserve my sweetness. Fucking brat.
I take the seat next to him, lifting my brows at his obvious attitude. "So, what did you want to ask me?" he asks.
"I wanted to ask if you're okay."
"What?" A spark of confusion flashes through his eyes. "Yeah. Why?"
"Just because I could tell it was bothering you with the way they were boasting about... Claire."
"Oh. Yeah, I'm fine. It was just annoying."
"Why are you lying about it?" I ask. I mean, I get why, but the lie he's using makes it seem mutual, so she still looks good in their eyes. They're obviously going to keep asking about her. Plus, what if they end up hearing the truth from someone else? Unless he's using that lie with everyone...
"It's easier than explaining the truth."
"Am I the only one that knows?" I can't help the happiness I feel when he nods, but I try to remember he was drunk when telling me. But I'd rather feel special, so I'm going to forget that. Wait... "Not even Alyx knows?"
He gives me another shrug. "I was too embarrassed to tell him." Oh my god. Baby, no. Just no.
I sympathetically put my hand on his knee, but I almost regret it when his eyes drop down to it. But when he doesn't freak out or push it away, I let it stay there. "What happened to you isn't embarrassing. For her, yeah, but you don't have anything to be embarrassed about. You believed someone that you thought you could trust. It happens to all of us." A certain someone comes to mind again. Fucking Jaimie. I really need to go see him and figure out the truth about that.
