Question- Okay, last chapter I asked what you were looking forward to. Now I want to know what you're not looking forward to in Ryland's pov??
-Ry-
Okay, I was mentally prepared to wait a week for him, but that was before he showed up and kissed me. Now it feels like I'm being tortured. Not only has it been six days since I've seen him, but he hasn't used my number once. And it's so frustrating. I've been checking my phone for a text from him at least every hour. Part of me doubts he's even going to use it. He probably only let me put it in to spare my feelings. I'm probably never going to see him again.
"Will you quit sighing? You're breaking my concentration," Theo says. I glance up to see him trying to kill an enemy on the game he's playing.
"Wow, thanks. You could ask what's wrong."
"Are you going to tell me if I do?" he throws back.
"No."
"Alright then. See why I didn't?"
I let another sigh out. "Why am I even here?"
"Because you wanted to keep me company while Jared is working."
"I wanted to? More like you asked me to."
"Whatever then. Is something really wrong, though?" he asks, turning serious.
I open my mouth to tell him no, but my phone ringing interrupts me. "Hold on." I raise my brows at the random number but answer it anyway.
"Who is this?" I ask a little harshly, letting my previous frustration out on this stranger.
"It's me... Wes." His soft voice filling my ear makes me suck in breath. Shit. I wasn't expecting it to be him. I've been waiting on a text and here he is calling me. That's even better.
"Oh. Hey," I respond in a way nicer tone now. I'm kind of embarrassed I answered it like that. Theo glances at me with a lifted brow. I get up from my spot, mouthing to him that I'll be right back.
"Did you forget you gave me your number?" he asks.
I step outside and close the door behind me. "No, I just didn't expect you to call before texting. Sorry if I came off rude. I just seen the random number and expected it to be spam or something else bothersome."
"I'm not bothering you?" he asks. Like he could ever.
"Not at all. So, what's up? What made you decide to call me over texting?" I ask, still surprised by the fact we're on the phone right now.
"I was actually wondering... if I could get your help."
"Of course." I take a seat on the stairs leading up to Theo's porch. "Do you have questions or something?"
"No, uh, I don't have any right now. It's a different kind of help..." I blame it on the lack of sex I've been having when my brain travels to a dirty place. But I know that's probably not the type of help he's talking about, so I push it to the back of my mind.
"What is it?"
"I'm stuck on the side of the road."
"What?" I ask, immediately panicking. Did he wreck or something? Oh my god. And here I was thinking perverted shit...
"My tire's flat. And before you think I can't change it, I can, but I sort of can't get the lug nuts off."
Relief hits me, knowing it's not as bad as I was thinking. "Send me your location. I'll be right there."
"O-Okay." The line goes dead, so I quickly stand and make my way inside to grab my keys.
"I'm leaving."
