The week flew by in a blur of peaceful walks and fun activities. Each day, right now Kai was laying on a bed inside David's lab as he and Melissa observed the data that the bed analyzed from Kai's body.
"So, David, what's the verdict?" Kai asked, trying to make light of the situation despite his curiosity.
David glanced up from the screens with a reassuring smile. "Well, Kai, as you know, we've been monitoring your health and any potential residual effects from the experiments you were subjected to five years ago."
Melissa nodded, her expression a mixture of anticipation and concern. "We just want to make sure there's nothing lingering from those experiments that could affect you in any way."
David continued, adjusting his glasses as he reviewed the data. "From what I can see, your cells are absorbing solar energy as expected—nothing out of the ordinary there. But what's even more promising is that there's no unusual cerebral activity. We're not detecting any signs of residual effects from the experiments."
Kai's face relaxed into a smile of relief. "That's good to hear. I was always a bit worried that something might resurface."
David nodded "I understand your concerns. When you first arrived at I-Island, we conducted a thorough examination while you were still in the capsule, in an induced coma. We wanted to ensure that there were no lasting modifications to your brain or any foreign influences that could affect you later on."
"My dad really had a good timing in raiding that lab" Kai said with a small chuckle
David's eyes glinted with a mix of curiosity and professional interest. "There's another point worth noting. We've observed an increase in the amount of solar energy your cells can absorb. This is perfectly logical, considering your age and the natural development of your abilities."
"I see." Kai responded thoughtfully.
Melissa leaned in with a curious expression. "Kai, have you ever used all of your power at once? I mean, really let loose with everything you've got?"
Kai hesitated, as he considered her question. "Honestly, I'm not sure. I've learned to hold back over the years. It's become a habit to control my strength. Letting it all out... I haven't really had the chance or the need to do that."
"And I feel sorry for the poor soul that makes you go all out" David said before turning off the computer. "You should go and enjoy the rest of the day before more heroes arrive, after all the expo Party is today."
"Dad's right," Melissa said with a grin. "It's a perfect time to take a break and enjoy the festivities. You've been cooped up in here long enough."
Kai nodded, feeling a mix of relief and anticipation. "Sounds like a plan. I could use a change of scenery. And I'm definitely looking forward to the party."
As both got out David turned his computer again looking at the data from Kai. Meanwhile Kai and Melissa seated at a café talking.
"So, do you have a favorite student?" Melissa asked, with curiosity.
Kai chuckled. "I can't play favorites, you know. But I do have one that stand out."
Melissa's eyes lit up with interest. "Oh, can you tell me his name?"
Kai leaned back, "His name is Midoriya Izuku. His determination and drive are incredible, and he's got a strategic mind. He's always thinking three steps ahead, analyzing every situation."Melissa nodded, recognizing the name. "Ah, Midoriya. I've heard about him from the sports festival he had a power similar to you and Uncle Might."
"Yep, that's him. He still hasn't fully mastered his quirk, but he's working hard. Actually, he's coming with my father, he kind of took interest in him."
