Somethings... wrong, why do I feel so uneasy, thought Petra. She wasn't usually like this, but she just couldn't keep her mind at ease for some reason. However, before she could grow any more anxious; a voice snapped her out of thought, "Head in the game, teacher!" David jumped down from above, aiming to smack her right on the head, but Petra caught his arm. "Stupid child," Petra growled, "If you had thought for once and rubbed one of those two brain cells you have kicking around up there, you'd know not to shout to your enemy before you try and pull a sneak attack." She then yanked David's arm, bringing him in before kicking David so hard in the stomach you could see the shape of her shoe from the back.

David was sent flying, but before he hit the ground, Ethan was there, catching him mid-fall. Without missing a beat, he immediately teleported behind Petra, following up with a roundhouse kick to her back. Petra ducked under the blow, but Ethan didn't relent. The second he landed on the ground, he launched another flurry of kicks, successfully launching her into the air. A wide grin grew across Petra's face, "You've lost your greatest weapon now, son. I know you don't have any more teleports left in you." Her hands lit up with a fiery glow, "All I need to do now is torch the place."

But when she moved to ignite her flames... nothing happened. Her shock was evident. What the hell? Her eyes darted around. Tch, this must be the work of that damned lab rat. He must have positioned himself behind me while I was focused on Ethan.

"No matter, I'll just activate Supernova, and then this whole headache will be over," she muttered, her aura flaring wildly, "This little game ends here," Petra grinned, outstretching her arms in preparation to fry each and every one of them. Ethan stood there on the ground, helpless. For a moment, he thought that this was it, "ETHAN," David shouted between his teeth, "Snap out of it. We're going to take this victory, but I need help." Ethan begrudgingly turned to him, "And what are we going to do?"

David smirked. "Throw me."

Ethan blinked. "You want me to... throw you? A kick won't solve this, y'know." David buried his face into his hand, "No, you idiot, I'm going to absorb that blast." Ethan's face grew red as he picked David up, "Never speak of this again." He launched David straight at Petra. For a moment, the two stared at each other as their eyes met before David started laughing. Petra's aura completely disappeared, being absorbed by David. Two pairs fell back to the ground, with David crashing down on Petra. "You dumbass," said David, taunting her, "Thanks for the energy boost... and the free victory, Dragon Rage." Petra's eyes grew wide, "No wait-"

A crimson swirl enveloped the two as the ground beneath them shattered. Ethan pulled David up from the crater and put him over his arm, "Nice." David smiled, his breath growing heavy from exhaustion, "Nice." Just as they started celebrating their victory, Petra appeared next to them, her arms cocked back. "The fuck?" David screamed, but Petra's fist stopped just short of their faces.

She ruffled their hair instead, smiling, "You boys did well. Of course, you still need some work with your mana control and overall combat skill, but you two did better than I ever could have imagined." David and Ethan turned to hive-five one another as they cheered. "Now, you boys continue training with each other. You still have a lot of room to improve. I have some urgent business to attend to." Her smile was replaced with a worried frown as she turned to walk out of the room. Ethan started to ask if anything was wrong, but Petra cut him short, "Don't worry about it, it's nothing, really. Just... something I need to check on."

Rhyan was deep in thought. I was so close to figuring it out. I almost had it in that fight with Alex, but I've never been able to reach that feeling again. What does my perfect weapon even look like? He envisioned it—a weapon without error, a perfect trump card... but how do I make it real?
