Alex takes in a massive deep breath of air as he suddenly sits up, reaching for the blade normally at his bed side only to grasp at the air. He felt himself being pushed back down and some yapping but couldn't make sense of it. Suddenly his vision sharpened as he looked around, realizing that he was in an infirmary of some sorts, he saw Adrian standing over his bed side looking at him before he sighed and went back to his chair to sit down.
As if suddenly gaining clarity, Alex began to remember all the events of the day prior. He suddenly started grinning as he thought of how eminence in the shadowy he looked yesterday, especially after showing his ultimate unrivaled technique. Turning his gaze to Adrian, he said "you wait for me since I got here?" "Of course, I can't just leave my partner without making sure he's alright." came the quick response from Adrian. Alex seemed to think for a moment before he started "so the fight is tomorrow right?" Getting a nod in response he continued "then when I get discharged, I don't want to let my skills dull... and I DEFINITELY don't want to eat any more hospital food." Adrian smiled, "don't worry, you will be out within the hour."
While this was happening, Ross left Rhyan's room, sighing to himself at what the doctors had told him. Apparently nukes must be pretty powerful, considering the fact that even while Rhyan was protecting himself he still wouldn't be awake till tomorrow, and probably won't be discharged until after the fight starts. But what had Ross worried was the fact that he didn't know if Alex was holding back to make sure he didn't kill Rhyan or not, and he couldn't ask him since as far as he knew Alex was still out like a light. Hell even if Alex was not holding back and that was his 100% could he even be sure that he could withstand such an attack. The more he thought about it the more he realized that if Alex had decided to use it and he couldn't stop it then he would not be able to withstand the energy. Sure if Luna took over then he was sure her magical reinforcement could tank it no problem but would the win really be his if it came to Luna.
Ross pushed these thoughts to the back of his mind while realizing that he was already walking the streets of the capital. Walking past a bar that seemed to have a lot of yapping and a lot of grones of annoyance. He paid it no mind but if he DID decide to look inside he would find Zack chilling in a booth. Zack was streaming, asking for ideas, "Ight chat, so for school lore, how should I represent Maharaga the opp stompa?" Zack practically yelled while others screamed at him to shut up, not that he noticed or anything. Zack looked up as if he was about to say something only to falter at realizing that Ethan was still not with him. He had not seen Ethan since the fight and had not even noticed that Ethan disappeared because he was trying to talk to his glorious chat. It just wasn't the same without having Ethan there to yap about his Light Maniac build in the game on RoadBlox called Shallow-Woken. Deciding to end the stream, Zack asked for the check. "Yo wouldn't it be funny if you gave me 20% on the bill." Zack heard somebody say to him. He realized it was the waiter, who had a name tag saying "Kaido." "And why should I do that?" he retorted. "It would be cool" was the quick response he got. So after giving the 20% tip, he walked home, thinking to himself about maybe calling Alberto when he was done with his 80 9 to 5 jobs to get on NightFort.
If Zack had decided to look up he would have seen the figures of Adrian and Alex darting across the rooftops. They were heading over to a bandit camp they had once raided and had decided to start living in. They realized that they wouldn't have to pay rent if they lived on somebody else's property. So they moved in, not that they had many things to move, and just chilled there. They were picking up an order from a pizzeria called "Arkham's Pizza." It was a famous place in the capital, although it seemed to be for the wrong reasons as people were talking about "Arkham updating his game" or whatever. They discussed what they should do after the finals are over for a bit but didn't really have any idea of what to do, eventually trying to head to bed. Yet for some reason Alex just couldn't sleep, he twisted and turned in bed, trying to find any comfort but he couldn't. He wasn't scared, oh no he was anything but scared. He was excited, too excited to test himself and even more excited to show his prowess as the eminence in the shadows. And little did he know, Ross was having a similar thought as him. Ross couldn't sleep either, but the reason was his excitement to prove himself to everybody. And yet with their different reasons they still shared the same thought. "Nah, I'd win."
