DALE
I practically jumped out of my seat from excitement when she mentioned going to france.
"Oh my god I love being a senior!"
"Didn't you say you wished you were back in 6th grade?" I sit back down and cross my arms while looking at Norita.
"Uh nope. Not me." I muttered, letting her laugh while nudging me.
"You sure seem excited!" The teacher-one of my favorites teachers says as I beam.
"Yeah, it's going to be so fun!" She looks at Norita beside me who seemed like she wanted to jump out of the window if she could.
"I will never understand how you two are bestfriends. Practically the same yet so different." She sighed causing both of us look at eachother. I guess when a trip is announced and one bestfriend is beaming out of joy while the other sits and sulks, it does seem like we are the polar opposites.
As the teacher walks away, my smile still lingers. Once the teacher is out of my face I'm instantly met with Thomas's eyes on me while he sat across of me.
We both look away, almost as if we had been caught doing something we shouldn't.
Norita continued to talk about how she hates school trips as an unusual redness crept up my cheek, I still couldn't get over him looking at me. Just for even a second.
Perhaps he felt it too, maybe he felt the way I felt about him.
Would that be for the better or worse?
"I'm gonna bring my camera." I look at her, catching her off guard.
"Ehh?" She frowns, knowing what that means.
"Everyone will be asking you to take pictures of them then."
"That's okay!" I grin, I just wanted to make memories. It was my last year with everyone here. Last senior year.
I'll make the most out of it.
________________The wind blew my hair, we were in france. After a long flight... We made it. I had been walking around with my group, which was me, Norita, thomas and matthew. When the group was announced me and Norita looked at eachother like we were going to commit arson together. Eventually we sobbed with lily knowing we were going to be separated from her and not going to be seeing her really for the rest of the day or majority of the trip until we went back to the dormitory.
I flipped through the pictures I had taken with my camera. Several photos of the views and my classmates, I couldn't help but smile knowing everyone was having fun. Just then, I found a photo of Norita and matthew together. Even though in reality he was just asking her to translate something because her and I were the only students that really spoke french, the photo caught something more than that.
"They're so cute." I smiled to myself before I find myself alone. I look up and luckily, I spot thomas. He stood at the edge of where we were, looking down at the city. Even though it was just us and he hadn't noticed me yet. I couldn't help but mesmerize him and not the actual view. Before I knew it, I had held up my camera to take a picture of him.
Once I'm done staring at him, he finally catches me.
"Dale." He says a bit startled.
"Uh yeah?" I instinctively respond.
"What are you..." He trails off softly before walking over to me.
"Where's the rest of the group?"
"I don't know, I came to uhm. Take photos. I guess." Lie. That was a lie. What I came here was to look for him. I don't know why it was that I wanted to see him...
Even though Norita had begged me not to leave her and matthew alone, I sneaked away anyway. I just know she's going to be so pissed off at me.
"Okay, we should probably get going then." He looks at his watch and his eyes immediately widen.
"When were we supposed to meet back at the hotel with the teachers?"
"Uhm, 12 pm I think." I respond a bit confused.
"We're late! Its 12:30 pm!"
