Anna's POV: It's Monday, January 23rd, I feel like January is flying by. Before my classes, I decide to get coffee, because why not? I swear if I run into the coffee guy again, I'm gonna be so mad. Not really though. What's that guy's name anyway? I can't keep calling him the coffee guy. It feels so nice being a commuter on campus, I can park anywhere. I grabbed my coffee and headed into the building where my classes were. I could barely focus in class. Then, in one of my classes, the professor started talking about relationships. Kill me now. I have to write a research paper on relationships. I have never been in one, what am I supposed to write about? It's due in two weeks. This calls for another coffee shop run for some ideas. After my classes, I decided to go straight to the coffee shop. As I went to sit down, I ran into the coffee shop guy.

"Why does this keep happening", I asked.

"The universe", he said.

"Very unlikely, coffee guy", I said.

"Okay, well people pleaser girl, I don't know", he said. Oh. He's got jokes.

"Can you at least talk to me for research", I asked. He's very hesitant but sits down anyway.

"Okay, my name is Anna. My major is psychology, I have this research paper due in two weeks. I don't have any ideas for it", I said.

"Chill, we'll get it done. I'm Charlie. What exactly is the assignment", he said.

"Um well it's a research paper on relationships", I said.

"That's not hard at all", he said. I look at him. He can't read my mind, but it's there.

"Oh you never been in a relationship", he said.

"There you go", I said.

"Let's write some ideas down", he said taking my pen and my notebook.

"Alright. I'm just going to spit out some ideas. Pros and cons of being in a relationship, marriages and divorces, music in relationships, people who want kids versus those who don't. That's all I got", I said.

"I wrote everything you said, but I added relationships in movies versus relationships in books", he said.

"That's genius, you're smart, Charlie", I said. He smirks and he starts to blush a little bit.

"Thanks, you are too", he said. Look now, I'm blushing.

"Oh I got to go sorry", he said.

"Okay bye coffee guy", I said. He looks backs at me and smiles.

I'm looking at my notebook for my research paper and Charlie has some nice handwriting for a guy. I keep looking at the research paper notes, then I noticed his phone number and a little note in the corner. It read, just in case you wanted to talk again the better way. He's got jokes, he knows he's funny... a great guy.

Charlie's POV: I keep checking my phone to see if she texted me. She hasn't. I'm not clingy or anything. I jut really liked talking to her today. I hope Anna gets at least some of her paper done today. I hear a ding on my phone, it's Anna.

A: You are such a jokester

Me: what do you mean not me

A: "the better way" huh

Me: haha yeah, we should talk more instead of you know.

A: JOKESTER.

She definitely likes me.

Anna's POV: So, I'm texting Charlie and he is so cute and so sweet. I have to wait until we get to know each other first. I don't want to rush my first relationship with a guy I hardly know. Psychology at it's finest. I don't like psychology for this specific reason. I text him back.

Me: we should talk more if you want

Coffee Guy: You really think so?

Me: Yeah, you're a cool guy

Coffee Guy: Wow cool guy, what happened to coffee guy?

Me: You will always be coffee guy

Coffee Guy: whatever you say lol

I read the message, then put my phone down on the table. He was definitely flirting with me. I could feel my face getting warm. I can't believe this guy has me blushing in a coffee shop in public. I go back to gathering resources for my research paper. I have some ideas about what I want to write about.

*time skip, 4pm*

Back in my apartment, I took a small nap and I started making dinner. I had my phone playing music on my speakers. I look at my phone occasionally to see if I like the song I'm playing. Charlie texted me three times in the past two hours.

Coffee Guy: You okay?

Coffee Guy: Hope research isn't making you die

Coffee Guy: How's it going?

Me: I'm okay just making dinner

Coffee Guy: Then what?

Me: Watch Youtube, then go to bed

Coffee Guy: LAME

Me: hey no i'm not

Coffee Guy: whatever lol

Me: haha

Coffee Guy: well i'm going to leave you alone now

Me: You really don't have to, bye

Coffee Guy: Bye

I put my phone down on the kitchen table. I go to the living room and watch television while I eat my dinner. I feel like a kid having a crush on a guy. My personality in flirting is I can do it really well over text but in person I'm clueless. I just get so awkward while talking an flirting. Charlie could flirt with me with no problems, an I would be a deer in a headlights. It'll be alright I guess. After my dinner, I clean everything up and head upstairs to get ready for bed. I get a text from Charlie, which it's 9pm.

Coffee Guy: Hey I'm bored

Me: You wanna come over

Coffee Guy: Oh

Me: I was just kidding

Coffee Guy: Really I was down

Me: Maybe another night, it's late

Coffee Guy: It's 9pm

Me: Yeah I know I'm tired, Charlie

Coffee Guy: That's cute when you're sassy

Me: Ugh. goodnight charlie

Coffee Guy: Goodnight

I put my phone on the charger. I can't believe Charlie. He's making me fall in love with him and it's working. I just hope he's not leading me on. I genuinely like him. I fall asleep fast.
