Chapter 20

Regina was sat in Doctor Swan's office, waiting for her to come in.
When Doctor Swan entered the room, Regina tensed up, she didn't know if she was ready to talk or not. There was lots of things that she hadn't told anyone, not even Robin. Was she ready to tell a complete stranger? She didn't know.
"Hello Regina, as I'm sure you remember I'm Doctor Swan, but you can call me Emma. Im glad you came today. So first, we will talk about ourselves, I want to get to know the real you, and you will get to know me, so that way, if you do tell me things you need to get off your chest, you won't be saying it to someone you know nothing about. Does that sound okay?" Emma smiled.
"It does" Regina smiled.
"Okay, well I'll go first. My name is Emma Jones, but everyone uses my maiden name as there's already a doctor Jones, I'm married to a man named Killian, we have 3 beautiful girls and a handsome little boy, Harper is the youngest, she's 2, then you have Collin, he's 4, then the twins Ruby and Ashley who are the oldest aged 7. I have been a doctor and therapist for 5 years, I'm 32. I got married when I was 20, young I know, but me and Killian are still going strong. And that's it I think. Now what about you?" Emma smiled, wanting to get to know her.
"Well, my name is Regina locksley, obviously" Regina laughed and continued "I am married to Robin, we have 2 beautiful children, Roland, who is 9 and Ava, who is 7. Roland isn't biologically Robins, but his dad walked out on us, so Roland doesn't know him and calls Robin dad. Robin had a son named Henry, who is 17 and in college, he comes over often but he lives in Denver with his girlfriend. My parents recently passed away, and I'm a professional hairdresser for celebrities and I work at Paul Davis hair salon and that's it I think" regina smiled.
"Good, now we're not strangers. Okay, now I have a few questions that I need you to answer and we can get this session on the go, okay?" Emma said
"Yep" Regina said.
"Okay, so, how are you feeling? Really, so you feel.. Angry? Upset? Violated? Used? Hurt? Dirty? How do you feel?" Emma said, getting a pen ready to take notes.
"I guess you could say that I feel.. All of the above really, I feel violated because of what he did to me, hurt because of the insufferable pain, dirty because I can also feel him.. On me, upset, annoyed. I always feels like I need to scream, shout and throw things. I don't know if that normal and I'm always afraid that I might loose my temper with my kids" Regina said, starting to tear up.
"What you feel is completely normal Regina, everyone is always worried they may loose their temper with their children, their loved ones or anyone. But the more you worry about that happening, the most likely it is to happen. do you know why?" Emma said and Regina shook her head. "It's because your working so hard not to hurt them, that your body reacts in a way that it normally wouldn't, say if you were trying so hard not to drop something, your working so hard to not drop it, that it might fall, does that make sense?" Emma said and Regina nodded. "If you want, after this we have a cool down room, you go in, and you can get a hammer and destroy the room, would you like to go in their later?" Emma asked.
"Would it help with my anger?" Regina questioned.
"It would" Emma laughed.
"Then sure, worth a shot" Regina laughed.
"Okay, the next question is, how are you with being touched? Not in a sexual way, but with your husband, with a slight touch to your leg, hand, arm or any other part? What's your reaction?" Emma said.
"I mean, at first, I just layed in bed with a jumper and track suite bottoms on, I didn't want to be talked to, or seen, but then as time went on I would sit with my family. I still flinched occasionally, but that's when it's a shock, if I know Robin is going to comfort me, then it's fine, I have no reaction." Regina said and Emma nodded.
"Perfect, okay and the last question before we get started is are you comfortable in telling me everything? Are you here to get it all off your chest and help you cope? Or are you here to talk about what you've been though? Or both?" Emma asked.
"Both I guess, I just want to build a big wall between here and after, I don't want to think about if ever again after a year or so, you know?" Regina said and Emma nodded.
"Okay, well let's get started." Emma said and placed the note pad on her next and came next to Regina.
"So first, I'm going to show you how to control how you feel, okay? So if you dream about it and wake up with a shock and can't get back to sleep. Kind of like a breathing exercise. Okay?" Emma said and Regina nodded.
"Okay, so close your eyes, and in lock your fingers together, then, breathe in for 10 seconds, and hold for 4" Emma said and they both did it. "Then out for 10 seconds, and hold for 4" they both did it "then again until you feel like you could just drift off into a peaceful sleep" Emma said.
"Okay, so next, this will help you stop thinking about it. Okay, so think of a moment in that place, any bad moment at all, have you got one? I know this may hurt, but it will help. Okay. Have you got one?" Emma said.
Regina nodded as tears strolled down her face. "Okay, now think of a nice time in your life, like your wedding, when you first met Robin, having your children, finding out you were pregnant, the engagement. Anything at all. Have you got one?" Emma said and a smile grew on Regina's face and she began to forget about that memory and think of this great one.
"Wow, I totally forgot what I was thinking about, thankyou" regina smiled and Emma smiled.
"My pleasure" Emma Said.
The session went on for another hour and Regina walked out feeling ready to talk about it with Robin. She didn't tell Emma anything this week as it was her first session, but next week they would be talking.
Emma took Regina to the cool down area and left her there for half and hour. Regina looked around the room and saw a hammer, she picked up the protected goggles and the hammer, all the windows her blocked off and so was the door, no one could see or hear her and she couldn't see or hear anyone else. Regina began smashing thinks up, shouting and screaming. When she was done she took of the goggles and felt a weight lifted off her shoulders, she no longer felt angry. Regina was beginning to feel her self again.

When Regina arrived home she found Robin, Ava and Roland asleep on the couch, the quietly walked in, placing her stuff down on the table and taking off her shoes and coat. She then walked into the kitchen and opened the fridge, as she turned around she saw Robin in the corner and shocked herself.
"Jesus Robin, you nearly gave me a fucking heart attack" Regina laughed, holding her chest.
"Sorry love, how was your session?" Robin asked.
"Good, leant a lot actually. I'm going again next week to you know 'talk'" Regina smiled and hugged Robin, he hugged back.
"I missed these hugs" Robin said.
"Me too, now come on, you have work tomorrow, let go to bed, I'm knackered" Regina said and kissed him softly on the lips, this was the first time she kissed him since she came back, and she didnt feel alarmed at all, she smiled and walked up stairs, carrying Ava and Robin carrying Roland. Try placed them in bed and then they both got in bed. Regina then rolled onto her side and looked the the picture of her, Robin, Roland, Ava, her parents, and Henry. Robin never spoke about his parents after they were arrested a few years ago for armed robbery, and Regina didn't want him too.

The locksley family were finally having the normal lives they deserved.

Sorry for the late update! It will be like this for awhile due to it being the last week of college, it's a lot of stress! Anyway.. Would you all like to know what happened to Regina in that place when she tells Emma or would you rather me just move it along and have her tell her without actually writing it if that made any sense! As always I love you all so so much and I couldn't ask for better readers!
