The next few days at Lee Group were a whirlwind of meetings, deadlines, and escalating tension. Wonyoung seemed determined to push Jungwon to his limits, assigning him tasks that piled up faster than he could handle. She would check in periodically, her demeanor cool and calculating, often dropping snide comments about his efficiency.
"Is that all you've managed to accomplish today, Jungwon?" she'd say, her voice laced with mock concern. "We really can't afford any slackers around here."
Jungwon gritted his teeth, forcing himself to smile. He was determined to prove himself, but the pressure was mounting. Heeseung, though occasionally supportive, was mostly consumed with his own workload, leaving Jungwon to fend for himself under Wonyoung's relentless scrutiny.
As the week progressed, Jungwon found himself working late into the evenings, often leaving the office long after everyone else had gone home. He'd return to the Lee's mansion, exhausted but still had to tackle the household chores assigned to him. Cooking, cleaning, and organizing—he juggled everything, hoping to ease the burden on Mrs. Lee, who had been so kind to him.
One night, after a particularly grueling day, Jungwon returned home to find the kitchen in disarray. "I'll just whip something up quickly," he muttered to himself, fatigue weighing heavily on him. As he moved through the motions of cooking, his vision began to blur, and a wave of dizziness washed over him.
He fought it off, but the exhaustion was overwhelming. He barely finished dinner when he felt his knees buckle. The last thing he remembered was the floor rushing up to meet him as he fainted.

Hours later, Jungwon stirred awake, blinking against the harsh light. He found himself in a hospital room, the sterile scent of antiseptic filling the air. Panic surged through him as he tried to sit up, but a gentle hand pressed him back down.
"Easy there," Heeseung said, his voice a mix of concern and irritation. He was seated beside the bed, looking both worn and tense.
"What happened?" Jungwon croaked, his throat dry.
"You fainted," Heeseung replied, his brow furrowing. "You've been pushing yourself too hard. I had to bring you here."
"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to worry anyone," Jungwon said, guilt flooding his chest.
"Worrying me isn't the problem," Heeseung snapped, though the sharpness of his tone faltered. "But seeing you collapse? That's just... annoying. Do you think I like having to deal with this?"
"I can handle it," Jungwon insisted, trying to sound confident, though he felt anything but.
"Clearly, you can't," Heeseung shot back, frustration creeping in. "This isn't about proving yourself. You need to recognize your limits before they recognize you."
Jungwon looked away, feeling a mix of embarrassment and determination. Heeseung's arrogance was evident, but there was an underlying worry in his voice that Jungwon couldn't ignore.
"Listen," Heeseung continued, his gaze steady, "when you're back on your feet, we need to discuss your workload. I'm not going to babysit you, but you shouldn't be drowning either. You're here to support me, not to be crushed under the weight of it all."
"Understood," Jungwon replied, anxiety swirling inside him. "But I want to prove myself."
"Proving yourself doesn't mean martyring yourself," Heeseung said, his voice firm but edged with genuine concern. "You can't afford to neglect your health. I have expectations, and you should too—of yourself and your well-being."
Jungwon nodded, feeling the weight of those words. He couldn't continue to bear the burden without support.
After a while, Heeseung stood, ready to check on the doctor. "Just rest for now. I'll be right back."
As Jungwon lay back against the pillow, he felt a flicker of hope. Perhaps it was time to prioritize his own well-being. He couldn't keep pushing himself to the brink without taking care of himself first.
When Heeseung returned, he looked more composed, but his expression remained serious. "Are you ready to go home?" he asked.
"Yeah, I think so," Jungwon replied, feeling a sense of relief mixed with apprehension.
As they left the hospital, Heeseung's demeanor was tense. "We'll work on a plan for your workload when we get back. I don't want you fainting again. It's embarrassing for both of us," he said, a hint of frustration in his voice.
"Thanks, Hyung," Jungwon said, feeling gratitude swell within him despite the underlying tension.
For the first time, he heard Jungwon called him "hyung" and he seems to feel comfortable.
Heeseung nodded, the faintest hint of a smirk playing at the corners of his mouth. Deep down inside he wants Jungwon to fight for his own right sometimes.
It's bothering him to see Wonyoung did all of this to Jungwon yet he can not do anything about it. He still has an ego, of course.
As they walked out into the cool evening air, Jungwon felt a renewed sense of determination. He was ready to tackle the challenges ahead, but this time, he wouldn't be doing it alone. He had support, and he would learn to ask for it when he needed it most—whether Heeseung liked it or not.
