Hospital

Jaime laid on the hospital bed with Isa sitting next to him. She had happened to see him lying unconscious on the floor when she saw Ricardo off. She had screamed at the top of her lungs scaring Jack who was in the house out. Jack came outside to his younger brother lying on the floor at a short distance from the house. Both Isa and Jack were shocked to see him all beaten up but they had to immediately rush him to the hospital.

Now, Isa was in the ward while Racheal and Jack had to go home to bring him some food and extra clothes. She rubbed his hands together with hers, keeping his slightly cold body warm. Jamie's face was a mixture of pink, purple and black. His left eye was swollen and she wondered if he would be able to open them for a while.

As she kept his hand warm, she wondered what exactly could have happened to him. Was he attacked? Did he get into a fight? Knowing that Jaime was an easygoing person she decided that he was definitely attacked. She couldn't wait for him to wake up so she could find out from him, who had attacked him.

The door opened slightly and Racheal and Jack entered. Racheal was holding a box which Isa guessed contained food while Jack carried a bag containing some clothes.

" How is he?" Racheal asked as she dropped the box next to her feet.

" Unconscious" Isa answered, adjusting so Racheal could reach Jaime.

Racheal ran her fingers along his arm. She was preparing for work when she got a call from Isa that Jaime was in the hospital. She immediately called Lorenzo to let him know that she wouldn't be at work and he allowed her, promising to visit when he closed from work.

" What do you think might have happened?" Racheal asked sitting on the bed.

" I don't know" Isa breathed out. She had been thinking about it all morning.

" Did he get into a fight?" Racheal directed her question to Jack.

" I'm not sure" He answered, placing the bag on a chair. " He told me he was going for a walk"

" I think he was attacked" Isa answered. " Jaime is not the type to get into fights"

" You're right" Racheal nodded looking back at Jaime. " I just hope he would be okay"

" Me too" Isa sighed.

" When would he wake up? I don't want the food to get cold" Racheal said reaching for the bag.

As if Jaime heard what Racheal had said, he moved his hand slightly.

" Did you see that?" Isa asked, pointing at Jaime's hand.

" What?" Jack asked, strolling over to the bed.

" He moved " and just on cue, Jaime moved his hand again.

" He moved!" Racheal exclaimed dropping the bag.

Jaime's eyelids fluttered slowly as he tried to open them. He squinted his eyes as he opened them due to the sunlight peeking through the curtains.

" Jaime?" Jack called, concern laced in his voice.

Jaime titled his head to face Jack and gave his brother a weak smile.

" Jaime" Jack sighed, pulling him into a hug. " I was so worried"

" Ouch!" Jaime groaned  " You're hurting my arm"

" Sorry " Jack released him while Isa helped him sit up on the bed.

" How are you feeling?" Isa asked him as soon as he was comfortable.

" Horrible " He answered. " I can't feel my arm and my face hurts" He touched his swollen eye.

" What happened?" Racheal asked him. " Isa found you unconscious "

Jaime didn't know what to tell them. He still found it hard to believe. Was that really Alexa's boyfriend or a guy who was obsessed with her?

" Tell us Jaime " Isa's voice cut through his thoughts. " Who attacked you?"

Jaime was surprised. How did she know she was attacked? Did she see them?

" It was a random person" Jaime half lied. Since he didn't know who the guy was, he could as well call him random.

" So a random person beat you up?" Isa asked, not believing him.

" Yeah" He nodded. The look he saw on her face showed that she wasn't buying it and glancing from his brother to his other best friend, he knew they weren't buying it also.

He sighed in defeat. They weren't going to let him off the hook easily.

" I was attacked by a guy who claimed to be Alexa's boyfriend" He revealed.

He saw Jack's widened eyes and he heard racheal's gasp but the look on Isa's face was that of complete confusion.

" Who is Alexa?" She asked.

" That rich girl I would always tease Jaime with" Racheal answered.

Isa's eyes widened in realization and her concerned look changed into complete anger.

" I didn't know she had a boyfriend " Jaime said.

" Of course you didn't know " Isa said. " She didn't tell you "

" I didn't ask" Jaime defended her. Alexa was his friend and it wouldn't be nice to jump into conclusion without hearing her side of the story.

Isa scoffed. " How would you know?"

" Are you sure it was her boyfriend?" Jack asked, his expression serious.

" That was what he said"

" Even if he was, why the hell would he beat you up? Asked Racheal.

" I don't know" Jaime shrugged. " He was really angry"

" I can't wait to get my hands on her" Isa gritted her teeth.

" She's innocent " Jaime defended again causing Isa to scoff. He could actually see the smoke coming out of her ears, she was really upset. Seeing her like that warmed his heart.

" Now that you're awake " Racheal placed the bag on the bed. " You should eat"

Jaime smiled. " You cooked?"

" Yeah" Racheal giggled. She had always been uninterested in cooking since she was little, she saw it as a chore. But today, she wanted to do it, for Jaime. " Now eat up" She said after dishing the food.

" Thank you " Jaime appreciated, gliding the plate over to him with his left hand as his right was bandaged from his wrist up to his elbow.

" Let me help you " Isa said adjusting the plate closer to her. As she fanned the food with her mouth, Jaime could still see the scowl on her face. " Open up"

Jaime slowly opened his mouth and allowed Isa feed him. His heart swelled as he watched her fan the food making sure it wasn't too hot. He knew she really cared about him but only as a friend and it really broke his heart.
