Go out with me

It had become a routine for Ricardo to drop by at Isa's house everyday on his way back from work. But today he didn't go to work and he was really missing her. He got dressed, hopped into his car and drove to her house. When he got there, no one was around. He knocked on the door but he didn't get a response. He turned to look around the place when he saw two ladies walking by.

" Sorry, excuse me" He said to them as he walked towards them.

" Oh my god" the first girl sighed raising her hand to her mouth. " He's handsome". The other lady kept staring at him.

" Hi" Ricardo said to them.

" Hiiii" They replied smiling sheepishly.

" I'm asking of Isa, do you know where she might be?"

Immediately, the smile on the girls face turned into a frown.

" We don't know" The first lady said and they walked away.

Ricardo was confused. " What's it with them?" He asked himself.

" Did i hear you say you're asking of Isa?" A voice asked. Ricardo turned.

" Yes" He answered. " You know where she is?"

" Who are you?" Jaime asked

" I'm her friend" Ricardo answered.

Jaime looked at him from head to toe. Her friend? Could he be the guy Racheal has been rambling about? He frowned.

" Her friend huh?" He asked.

Ricardo nodded. " Can you please take me to her? I'll pay"

Jaime scoffed. He began to walk away.

" We can go in my car" Ricardo said to him.

" I prefer to walk" Jaime responded without looking back and Ricardo immediately followed behind him.

They arrived at a local restaurant.

" Stay here. I'll bring her out" Jaime said to Ricardo and walked away.

Ricardo stood outside the restaurant watching as the people ate and chatter at the same time. It was a small place but it was quite full. He wondered what Isa was doing there. Just then he saw her walking out of the restaurant with Jaime behind her. She had her hair packed in a messy ponytail and an apron around her waist.

" Cardo, you're here" She said as she got to him.

" Yeah" He smiled. " You work here?"

" No. My mom owns this place" She answered smiling. She was happy to see him.

Ricardo looked at Jaime who stood at a distance behind Isa, pretending  not to be  paying attention to them by playing with the stones on the ground with his legs.

" Who's he?" He asked.

" Who?" Isa turned. " Jaime?" Ricardo nodded. She smiled. " He's my friend"

Friend. Ricardo thought.

" Would you like to sit?" She asked him.

" No. I don't want to disturb you" He said. " I just came to ask you something"

" What's that?" Isa asked dipping her hand into the pocket of her apron.

Ricardo hesitated. What if she turns me down?

Isa smiled. " Just say it"

" Would you like to go out with me?" He asked. Saying the  words one by one.

Isa was surprised. Is he asking me out?

Ricardo saw the look on her face. " I understand if you don't want to. I just thought....."
