Best for last

Jaime gestured for Alexa to follow him, leading her to a vibrant market nearby. Alexa could perceive the scent of spices, and street food. She also heard music.

" What's this place?" She asked, excitement in her voice.

" You'd find out" Jaime replied as he further led her into the market.

As they strolled through the market, Alexa's eyes widened in wonder. She had never experienced this kind of lively atmosphere before. It was overwhelming. Jaime dragged her to a food stall.

" Ever tasted Lechon?" He asked her

Alexa's eyes widened at the crispy fried pork belly in front of her. " No" She answered.

"Try it" Jaime said, handing her a stick fully stacked.

Alexa was hesitant . She had always watched what she ate, she wants to keep her body sexy. But the pork belly she held was looking so tantalizing and she couldn't bring herself to refuse, especially since it was Jaime offering it. She took a bite, and immediately, her eyes lightened up with delight. "Wow, this is amazing!"

Jaime laughed, his eyes crinkling. " Sure, it is"

Alexa was still chewing on the fried pork on her hands when Jaime dragged her away.

" Come try this one" He said as he pulled her away.

They stopped in front of another food stall. Alexa didn't recognize any of the food she saw but she tasted them all. From the lechon to fish balls, Puto, which was steamed rice cakes, she tasted them all.  Her excitement was  infectious, and Jaime found himself laughing and smiling more than he had in weeks.

" Where are we going?" Alexa asked as Jaime pulled her through the crowd.

Jaime didn't respond, he continued to drag her along and stopped in front of a shop.

" Where are we?" Alexa asked

" I reserved the best for last" Jaime answered as he pulled her. inside the shop.

Alexa was surprised to see it was a local food canteen. " Jaime....I think I've had enough" She laughed. " I don't think I can eat any more"

Jaime sat her down and smiled down at her. " Wait till you see it" He said and walked away.

He came back later with two bowls. He placed them on the table and took the seat in front of her.

" What's this?" Alexa asked looking at the food in front of her.

" That's Batchoy" He said smiling. " It's the best thing you'd taste tonight"

" What's Batchoy? Alexa laughed. She found the name funny.

" As you can see, it's noodles soup"

Alexa stared at the food. " I'm not sure I want to eat this "

" Try it" He said handing her the fork.

Alexa took the fork and tasted it. Her eyes widened and Jaime laughed. Alexa was surprised at how loud he laughed. Guess he's having so much fun. She thought. She loved how his eyes crinkled whenever he smiled at her and how eager he was to show her around. She felt special.

" I told you" He said, picking up his fork.

Alexa tasted it again. "This is incredible!" She exclaimed. "I never knew noodles could taste so good"

Jaime chuckled. " This is where you'd find the best noodle soup " he said.

They finished their meal and began to walk back to Jaime's workshop.
