Taylor looks out across the field at the players and kids running back and forth, scanning for her husband. She shields her eyes to block out some of the bright midwestern sun and catches sight of him at the edge of the field with Patrick and Mecole.
"Look at our men, Tay," says a voice beside her. She turns to see Chariah, who wears an amused expression. "Really, look at yours—he's in full dad mode."
Taylor glances back, and she almost has to pinch herself at the sight. Yes, Travis is in full dad mode. He's holding Archie tight against his chest, the baby's little feet kicking as his bright blue eyes follow the kids playing. He is talking to the guys, but half his attention is on Archie, bouncing on the balls of his feet in rhythm with Archie's kicks. And the best part, the part that makes her turn to mush, is how much they look alike. Archie's little red baseball cap matches Travis's, and their side profiles are so similar it takes her breath away.
"Oh for sure, he's been dying to get to this moment for years," she replies.
They'd talked about it a few times throughout their relationship—how much they both wanted kids, how hard the wait had been. When they finally decided last year was the year, they spent countless hours planning, wishing, and hoping. They'd planned to start trying after the wedding, but Archie had other ideas. The night before their wedding, which had brought all their closest friends and family to a secluded villa in Lake Como, they'd snuck away to the bathroom, huddling together on the edge of a ridiculously ostentatious bathtub, staring at a piece of plastic waiting for lines to appear. The massive smile that spread across Travis's face at the result would forever be her favorite.
The secret didn't take away anything from the wedding. In fact, it gave it more meaning. All the plans and dreams they'd been building were coming to life, etched into the fabric of the vows that now bound them together.
In a quiet moment at the reception, they looked out at their family—laughing and talking like they'd always been that way, like they were always meant to be together.
"It's funny," she starts. "I used to think I'd be too much for someone—for anyone. That it was just going to be me and my family. But you all just looked at this chaos and said, 'So what?' and jumped in with us. And now we're all a family. We're going to have more of us soon, too."
Travis turns to her, brushing a kiss on her hair. "We Kelces have always been a little too much, so of course we're not going to back down from a little extra attention. Not if it means we get to keep you, Tay. And we get to have this, too."
"I'm so glad I married you," she murmurs, resting her chin on his bicep, her voice soft but steady. "I'm glad you didn't give up after that night at the show. You could've walked away, but you didn't. You came and got me. And look where it led us."
"I'll always come get you, Tay. You already know."

"Look at you two," Jason says, coming up beside her as she watches Travis get stopped by Pat and Austin, who are blocking his way as he tries to sneak her a seltzer disguised as a cocktail. Travis keeps glancing at her, grinning each time, and she can't help but smile widely back.
"What?" she asks.
Jason narrows his eyes. "You two are in cahoots about something."
"We're always in cahoots, Jas," she says sassily, trying to tamp down the smile threatening to give them away. "We just stood up in front of everyone and pledged to be in cahoots forever."
"No, it's something different," he returns, squinting suspiciously.
"I'm about to cut you off from the keg. Don't you need to go annoy Ky or something?" she jokes, hoping he doesn't catch on to why they're being extra ridiculous beyond that it is their wedding day.
