Chapter 8 : Hair Clips

Fun's over, and we're back to regular programming for a few days now. Professors at chalk boards na ulit ang kaharap naming lahat.

I'm so bored! Hinihintay ko na lang ang bell dahil lunch na ang kasunod.

I'm alone in this class dahil nasa ibang subject ang mga kaibigan ko. Backloads, remember?

"That's it for today's discussion, we have two minutes left. Any questions?" our professor asked while putting away her stuff in a bag.

I bet we're all just thinking about lunch food right now. Walang nagtataas ng kamay eh, ni walang umiimik.

Our professor scanned the entire room, still waiting for someone to speak up.

"None? Alright, I'll see you all next week."

Finally, she left the classroom na! We're free!

I walked out of the classroom with a hungry stomach but a happy face because classes for today are over, at least for me!

My friends and I agreed earlier na sa tapsihan kami sa labas kakain kaya doon ako didiretso ngayon. Tapos na rin naman siguro ang klase nila.

Nasa malayo palang ako, tanaw ko na si Rafael sa loob. Nakatalikod siya mula sa bintana ng tapsihan kaya naisipan kong gulatin. Haha!

I was creeping up behind him, but he was quick enough to feel that someone's approaching. He caught my hand that I was gonna use sana to scare him.

"Aww! Sayang!" I reacted when he captured my hands.

He was still laughing when I took a seat across from him. Masayang masaya ah.

"Where's Amelie?" I asked.

"Nag CR pa. Mauna na raw ako," sabi niya. "Nga pala, before I forget, I have something for you."

He took out his bag and placed it on his lap so I curiously peeked, but I couldn't see what it was.

"Ano 'yan?" I couldn't help but ask.

He was snickering while fishing it out. "Naalala kasi kita, so I got them for you," he explained.

Finally, nailabas na niya mula sa bag. Nakalagay sa paper bag ang kung ano man 'yon, at saka niya iniabot sa'kin.

The curious little girl in me hurriedly opened the paper bag, to find a pair of light pink ribbon clips for my hair. AAAHHH!

My eyes widened and my mouth gaped in excitement. I couldn't help but to scream silently.

"These are so cute!! Thank you!" I exclaimed while admiring the cute clips.

"I was buying something for our class assignment kasi, eh I saw that at the window of the store na binibilhan mo ng clips. I thought it'll look good on you."

That's so heartwarming! I appreciate it when people get me stuff just because they get reminded of me.

"I know it's not much. Gusto lang kitang pasayahin," sabi niya.

Lalo lang akong na-touch! Ang sweet ng taong ito!

"I know kasi na you didn't have a good time last week. Bibigyan sana kita ng flowers, kaso halos lahat ng manliligaw mo, flowers ang binibigay sa'yo," paliwanag niya.

Tinignan ko siya ng maigi habang naglalaro sa isipan ko ang sinabi niya. "So...nanliligaw ka?" pagkukumpirma ko.

Agad nanlaki ang mga mata niya, sa gulat siguro. "Ha? Hindi!"

Hindi ko mapigilang matawa sa reaksyon niya. "Ito naman! Ang defensive," biro ko.

He chuckled nervously, hinting me that there's something more to it. I didn't wanna overthink so I shrugged it off.
